@@valiang8867I haven't seen the movie, but from what I can remember reading about it, I think even the chemical reactions or whatever it is that makes fire burn are failing. Like, even combustion isn't as efficient now. Fires are harder to light, fuel is harder to burn, they go out sooner, etc.

This is what is a perfect example of a non ending, sets up a bunch of things including the word Croaton and it goes nowhere, at some point they didn't know how to continue the narrative and gave up, great concept and execution, but soured by the ending or lack thereof.

It's like a zombie film I watched where people were in a huge abandoned house, with vast wooden stairs and loads of wooden furniture, yet they risked their lives to go to the woodshed for firewood! I love how the directors put absolutely 0 effort into telling us why it happened or how it happened. The only things we were given is word similar to Croatia, people join the dark side after they vanish, batteries run out in a few minutes and 2 kids and a horse survived. Why did the things happen? Idk. What are those shadows? Idk. What happened to the ppl? Idk. Was it world wide like "the darkest hour" movie? Idk. How to beat em? Idk. What did humans do wrong here to deserve that? Idk. Soo many questions, absolutely no answers.

It's not complicated but it is not simple to say. The movie has left many hints which of course you need to watch in order to gather the pieces of information. If you don't watch the movie then you wont have the pieces and thus nothing will make sense and only questions will remain. You know what? Croatoan is a real thing in history. The disappearing settlement with the word "Croatoan" carved on a tree is 100% real history and has nothing to do with Croatia.

The movie is called Vanishing on 7th Street (2010). Even this video synopsis is too long. I can’t imagine watching the full movie. Anyway, I went over to Wikipedia where they have a written synopsis that one can read in 2 minutes. I recommend that.

dont worry absolutely nothing makes real life sense in this movie haha if daytime was only 2 hours the Earth climate would start changing they would freeze to death before the ghosts even catch them 😂 no light means the sun isnt hitting Earth and that can only happen if the shadows fully blocked out the sunlight somehow and also its heat which again impossible or they somehow moved Earth away from the sun but yeah nothing makes any logical sense

It’s interesting how the only things that still had power were an old truck and an old generator, both of which are carbureted and don’t use any electronics to run. There must have been a massive solar flare or an EMP. The storyline is also similar to the rapture where it’s said people will simply disappear and the days become shorter.

The "Lost colony on Roanoke island" isn't really a mystery. The colonists suffered hardships and abandoned the colony and joined a local Native American tribe. Future settlers many years later reported seeing some native americans with blonde hair and blue eyes that were part of a nearby tribe.

What's this BS about nobody knowing what "Croatoan" means? Croatoan was an island near the Roanoke colony, and the colonists had agreed with those who left to get a resupply from England that should they have to evacuate or relocate the colony for any reason, they would leave some sort of a sign of where they went. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to put 1 and 1 together here.
