So I have uneven vertical bars just like lil bro in the vid. I try to make sure they are symmetrical when I give myself a lineup. I understand it's tough for client cuts since the difference will be very visible when the hair starts to grow back but it makes such a difference. It's part of the reason I started cutting my own hair. I can maintain the lineup with touch ups.

I’m a barber for 15 years. But If I would cut his hair, I definitely would give him a high taper, that would just look better on him. I never do a low taper, because I think the client don’t stay long fresh and it looks more like a shape up if the clients looks straight at the mirror. I feel like if you do a high taper you stay longer fresh and it just looks better. And I told this to my clients and they all agree. I only do a low taper if the client really wants it.
