Loved your reaction to Dan's song today. He can sing anything, and sing it amazingly well. If you want to hear him sing full on opera, his cover of Nessun Dorma is right up there with the big time professional opera singers. It is an incredible performance and a very emotional one for him. His father loved opera and he and Dan used to listen to it together when Dan was very young. He performed this about 5 months after his after died. Also the song Time to Say Goodbye is an operatic song, a duet with a female singer, and in the outro, he talks about his father, who was of Italian ancestry. Just another glimpse into his background that is so interesting and inspiring. Thanks for continued appreciation of Dan.

I like the chain reaction idea! Two suggestions for more of his lower register: a massive metal upgrade of a pop song, Adele’s Rolling in the Deep; and Love. Me Tender (be sure to play the intro). Dan usually covers songs in the original key, because he can sing anything, in any range. This was a great performance, and I love your embrace of different sides of Dan. One song I hope you will get to is My Immortal, a gorgeous and fiercely emotional (non-metal) rendition of the beautiful Evanescence original. Maybe a chain reaction candidate…. And you still haven’t done his Hallelujah Chorus, which will blow your mind, guaranteed. And…. And…. See you next time!
