Head to Head - Giant Trance X Advanced Test - 29 SE vs 29 Pro 1

Today we are riding the Giant Trance X Advanced Pro 29 1 and the Pro SE models.
We noticed the bikes were different right away by pedaling them on the flat. the carbon wheels of the 29 1 model made the ride snappier but harsher. The 29 SE felt more supple and composed throughout the trail.
Overall Conner was able to get his times within a second between both bikes. Mine were a bit more staggering with the 29 1 being :04 faster.
All in all it was a great time riding, tweaking and testing these bikes head to head with Conner, if you'd like to see more of these videos please let me know.
Next up we'd like to do a wheel/tire test!

I’ve been on the ‘21 Trance X Advanced Pro 1 for three seasons now. Regarding the wheel discussion, you need to let the bike run and trust those carbon wheels. They track a line reliably and in doing so, allow you to keep momentum…if you trust them and let the bike run. This is a very capable bike in a variety of terrain and conditions. I run mine from full XC to trail epics to bike park flow trails and tech trails (to a limit) and am confident in all of them. The steep seat angle, long reach yet conservative head angle work for me and combined, provide that range of capabilities. The Maestro suspension climbs well yet feels deep making it more capable than 135mm travel would suggest.

I have 2021 Anthem and 2021 trance x advanced. The anthem feels like riding in the bike but the trance x feels like riding on the bike. I prefer in the bike feel. Any idea why the trance x feels like that? Could it be the seat tube angle?

I'm here for it dude! Down to check out/watch pretty much any videos that you, Conner or Brian Cahal are involved in. No offense to any other YT accounts or riders/reviewers but it aint always easy finding decent bike reviews/impressions from people with legit riding ability as well as give reasonable insight without starting to sound completely full of shit aka (swayed or paid opinions). Hope some of my ramblings make sense hahah

Thanks for the response dude! I appreciate the feedback and hope to continue making relatable content w/ Conner and other riders too. Hopefully I can get Eric on soon who’s another amazing rider with insane talent ✔️ we hope to do more bike reviews and product stuff here soon too with the intent to showcase what we like/ don’t along with the durability. ✌🏻

Man Conner was flying! Sad the KOM was so short lived. It’s wild to see this trail at these speeds!

Conner is so fast! I think there will be a gaggle of folks this week shooting for the 👑 again now that the dirt is gonna be good good. You see how I started to lose Conner slowly but surely after the drop? I just can’t hang with him 😂

I haven’t spent much time on the SJ I have ridden the SJ evo a bit tho. I think if I was choosing between the 2 it would probably be all about build and cost.
