When is a headache a sign of a serious or urgent condition like a stroke, meningitis, or a brain tumor, and when is it just a simple self-limited headache we've all experienced?

Perhaps a central nervous system (CNS) infection like meningitis or encephalitis, a brain tumor, a stroke, an intracranial hemorrhage, or any other potentially life-threatening cause of a headache.
