No matter how much I love Jokic as a player, my countryman and as a human being, Luka is my second favorite, no doubt he will surpass even Jokic at some things he does, he's got it all, brains, skills and athleticism.

Not to mention, his defense has improved a lot also when he was playing alone vs the other team, he obviously couldn't have the energy for both defense and offense, so he did what he was good at.

@@philipthavenius9801 I don’t think he will be like, Tatum level good on defense, but it’s obvious that when he tries he can be decent and help the team out, but yeah, I don’t mind if he is lazy on defense on the season, as long as he at least try in the playoffs and the Mavs actually get a good center to help lively, the last piece of the puzzle, then my bet is on the mavs for the ring, for now I am still nuggets or celtics tbh

just to add to your luka vs tatum point, tatum is not a transcendent offensive player like luka is. both are top 5 in slowest average speed on defense, that doesnt mean they're bad or good defenders but it does mean that they're corner watchers, so tatums defense being used to elevate him over luka is non sense, one the difference in offense is bigger than the difference in defense, and they're both guarding corner shooters so does it really matter that much on who's the better defender?

Luka Doncic is an absolute monster. When he's "on", he's fucking scary. That being said, i don't think he'll ever win a ring with the Mavs. (unless they do some drastic changes) Right now, they're doing better than expected. The Luka/Kyrie duo is working better than what they used to have a few years back. (the Luka/Porzingis duo). And yes, things are looking way better now that they also have Dereck Lively. But the Mavs are too inconsistent at this point in time. Sure, there's times when they look invincible. But the opposite is also true, i'm not sure they'll be able to advance far during the playoffs. But Luka is phenomenal that's for sure..., i used to think he was some kind of "euro" version of Harden. But he has changed, progressed since last year. Everything seems to be going in the right direction but i don't think they're ready yet. What he's doing at his age is just ridiculous though. I'm not sure we've ever seen anything like it. PS: Luka's step-back threes are all very slow and yet, they're the most beautiful to watch, perfect form, slow yet unstoppable.

You re right about overseas players for sure. Not just the three you mentioned in the beginning of the video, there are many more. I mean key players in their teams, not bench material: you have Jokic Luka and Giannis at the top and then you have Embiid, Porzingis (he's not the best player but he's essential in Celtics team's success this year), Sabonis, Markannen, the Wagner bros in Orlando, even little big Wemby in Spurs seems like he ll become a second Doncic, superstar already at the age of 21-22. Now compare that with the top overseas players back in the 00s: there was Nowitzki, Ginobili and Gasol. I think that's it!... and only Dirk was the mvp and leader of his team. The difference between now and then is immense...

@@MrOnetedify Even with a few rings he would still not be on MJ's level. That's the problem with MJ, he was absolutely ELITE both offensively and defensively. Its a very difficult bar to measure up to. BTW I love Luka, he's incredible, but nobody is on MJ's level for total game.

When Larry Bird said "That is God disguised as Michael Jordan", it trumped pretty much any other evaluation ever made by one player about another, in possibly _any_ sport.
