It's quite funny to see all those comments that this was the golden era of hardstyle etc. I remember back in the day how much hate Headhunterz, Wildstylez, etc. etc. got back in the day with their so called "Nu-Style" The scene was pretty much splitted at that time. Many guys were afraid that the "Real Hardstyle" would die with reverse bass. Those "tok's" where not hard enough and the melody's cheesy etc.. btw. Just Say My Name was the answer from HHZ to those guys^^

Saw Lady Dana back in 99 and it changed my Fucking life, love some hardstyle, the music and the scene isn't what it used to be. I understand that things always change,but it used to be AWESOME! Until you have seen and bounced in sync with 5,000+ people you haven't truly lived! Man those days were awesome, could go to a party out of state and out of country, while dressed anyway you pleased,wear backpacks and Vick's vapor rubbed filled facemask, and not have to worry about getting shot, getting your shit stolen,or even get in a fight. You just made more and more friends with every party you intended.When the mostly underage candyravers came into the scene in 1999-2001 it absolutely ruined the scene in the US! They came to try to be cool and to do drugs,not to dance and not to hear a great DJ/DJ's. I was at the right to dance festival in Dallas in 01 I believe,at one of the most amazing venues called the bronco bowl, literally a huge concert arena style bowl at the end,with 5 different bar / hall setups with a different dj spinning in each one,plus a DJ spinning in the massive halls, and to top if off at the end away from the arena was a huge arcade,40+pool tables, and a 40 lane bowling alley! It was incredible, went to a few party's there but the freedom/right to dance festival was the best.Except...that was where I first met and saw a true candyraver who did not know the name of one single dj spinning that night! And there was over 25 of then and her and her stupid friends jawwing away on some fake x could not name 1 single DJ! I knew the scene wouldn't last,they never do, but once people like that started showing up it went down so fast and so hard it was unbelievable.They even had to tear down the bronco bowl which had to cost a million to do because they started banning and limiting party's and no DJ's would come spin anymore. Make's me sad just thinking about it, but at least I got to see it and be apart of it for the sweet spot of the US electronic scene timeline!

One thing you will clearly notice by watching this video and then watching Qlimax 2011 videos...is that in this video people actually dance, jump, stomp, and party! Qlimax 2011 everyone stands still with their smartphones and cameras filming the stage. Its truly sad how Qlimax has been invaded by hardstyle wannabes :( Qlimax is no longer an event for diehard fans, there isnt even any room to dance anymore, just crowded with people who look at you like you are crazy if you go nuts to the music...
