Another excellent video. Thanks 😊 It’s worth remembering rule #1 of wet & dry club: When you drop the wet & dry paper on the ground, don’t throw it away, simply divide the grit number by 10 and carry on regardless. YES!

Another stonking lesson on home car improvements. I just love the time taken to prep before starting the job, no rolls of brown paper here aka Mike and Ed masking up, who needs it ffs, life is too short. This is a brilliant watch, educational and informative. Just like most of us would do it as well.⛔ Keep em coming mate. 🚗

When I done mine with the sealey kit, I actually did mask it up well, or so I thought. It was only after I polished the car, did I see all the lacquer oversprayed on the wings 🤪

Cheers mate. Spend a little bit more time than I did and I reckon it could be a really good job tbh. Even better if you can coat them in 2k lacquer.

That's a fair job, certainly better than before. I have done this to my 107 but using a temporary lacquer , I'm gonna get me some varnish. Great tip as usual.

My 107 headlight lenses are in a terrible state! VERY cloudy. It's a 2007 car. Are the 107's prone to that happening? It's actually getting dangerous driving at night. Headlights seem so dim. I was going to get new lenses but no idea where from. Is this worth doing with a kit then?

Cheap(er)skate I-live-in-a-desert version I did yesterday that worked out pretty well: 600 grit dry sandpaper followed by T-cut (repeat a few times), clear lacquer then T-cut (probably just removed the lacquer tbh, but my logic was it'd fill in any remaining scratches), wax & polish finish.

How is the clear varnish working? As its 1-component. I thought 2-component is the ideal for best result in the long run but more expensive. Any thoughts?

It’s just acrylic, 2k would be better. It’s holding up well so far though

I'd love to get a Mk2 driver's seat for my '05 C1, as it's an easy, comfortable swap. But it will be difficult to find a 3dr seat locally.

@@albertsmith1048 The Mk2 seats have slight bolsters & are height adjustable, model dependent. 3 door front seats have the tilt & slide mechanism, to allow access to the rear. Whereas the 5 door model didn't have this. According to the forums, they are supposed to be much more comfortable than the flat slab Mk1 seats.

Another way of doing this is by using t-cut that removes scratches that works just as well and you dont need to worry about scratches from sand paper

I do that in another video. It works but doesn’t get rid of all of the oxidisation

I usually just bang some compound on the polisher n buff over, only takes 5 mins. Problem is you need a polisher,pads and compound 🤣

I used the same technique in a restore kit on the other c1. Came up well but after 18 month it’s dulled a bit again, still looks ok though and better than before I did it.
