I bought the Elite Velour pads. They definitely improved bass extension and tamed upper-mids in a way that improved acoustic piano. I have enough HF hearing loss so whatever is going on at 10-11 kHz is immaterial, so I'm not going to EQ. Thanks for the test and video.

I bought the Dekoni Velour pads for my Clear after watching your video. I am not a professional reviewer, so I am not sure that the words I use to describe my experience here make much sence. The sound with Dekoni Velour pads is definetly different. I experience it as less 3d or less maybe it has less depth. I experience the Clear original Pads as more vivid. The sound is more destinct. The Velour pads add more bass, but I experience the bass as being a bit more muddy. The Clear loses a bit of its "Focal" sound. To me the orginal Clear pads are more comfortable, more soft. I used the following youtube track for comparison: "Christian Dior Cruise 2021-2022". It is very dynamic. I prefer the original pads over the Dekoni Velour ones. Can someone tell me a good EQ app for android to apply Resolve's EQ settings on?

@metal571 I replaced my Audeze LCD-X stock earpads with the Dekoni fenestrated sheepskin ones. To my surprise and delight, apart from improved comfort the new pads pretty much fixed the LCD-X infamous mega dip in the upper mids. It turns out someone else had found something similar previously: www.head-fi.org/threads/audeze-lcd-x.684394/post-14956431 Andrew @The HEADPHONE Show could perhaps reproduce this result quantitatively on a frequency response plot *wink wink* *nod nod* =) Bottom line, the fenestrated sheepskin pads changed the LCD-X tonal balance quite dramatically to my ears, and for the better. Highly recommended.

@metal571 I hear you. Interestingly enough, Dekoni has a freq response plot that shows a similar effect for the LCD-2 (although the dip there is not as pronounced as that in the Xs and-according to the plot at least-it is shifted toward the lower treble): dekoniaudio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/LCD-FNSK-1024x549.png I haven’t tried the LCD-2, but maybe you have and it makes better sense to you.

Thanks to your comment I decided to buy these and I couldn’t be any happier. The bass is so punchy and deep while not muddy which is perfect because it still retains all the detail and even the soundstage. I love that it makes the midrange sound more neutral as well.

I have the elite sheepskin pads and it definitely helps with the mid bass dip. Songs sound so much more punchy and beefier and complete. With the stock pads, everything sounded like it was missing something. It also helped lower the mids a little making it less fatiguing to the ears and more fun to listen to. I highly recommend you get them!

Would you recommend the Lyr 3 over the Jotunheim 2?

@@1ce2berg I've never used the Jot, sorry. From what people say is slams much harder. Lyr pulls ahead in coherency and layering. To me Lyr is smooth and full bodied, but wouldn't be my first choice if you want a lot of grip behind your drivers.

Yeah I should be able to do that.

Should be noted closed backs are going to react differently to the same pads. Do not at all assume the changes here in FR will reflect Elegia changes. Pads can affect stage and resolution as well and not just FR. It's pretty complicated and I'd never feel comfortable recommending any 3rd party pad without having listened to it in person first

@@ResolveReviews Like some other guys here have mentioned, some measurements of the Elegia with those Dekoni pads would be super rad. I assume that a few viewers (myself included) have recently acquired the Elegia, what with the Adorama sales that have been going on lately, and would like whatever info would free us from having to buy seriously overpriced pads. @@metal571 yeah all the pads except for the sheepskin solids completely kill the bass on the Elegia. That's the only one worth considering.

Yeah those solid ones work for the Elegia. I still like to EQ up the upper mids and treble a bit, but it does help the bass a lot.

Chrono has one in his vid. I think I may prefer it a bit brighter, so I'm still working on mine. At the moment I just reduce 10khz by 4 with a Q value of 5.

I have a similar issue. After a few months, daily driving my Clear MG Pro the pads get all scratched up from my face stubble. It’s annoying as hell, because I love the stock pads sound over the Elex pads I have tried. For the headband though, I recommend putting a cover on it. I got a large one on Amazon by TXesign, very comfortable and keeps it clean.

stock pads haha :D I'm also afraid that can be money wasted for new pads if they gonna sound worse than original

I got the Dekoni Choice Hybrid for Beyer DT series. I also use the same pads on the Beyer T5 as I found the T5 stock leather pads on closed back being too hot.
