Headphones Not Working? This Simple Cleaning Method Could Help! (iPhone, iPad, Android)

In this video, I show you a very simple method to clean out your headphone and lightning port on your iPhone, iPad or any other smartphone or tablet.
Warning - if you are concerned about damaging your device, don't try this method and consult your manual, manufacturer or relevant genius.
This fix removes the dust, pocket lint, dirt and other "crud" that gets caught up in your input jacks over time and can help solve some common problems, including:
1. Headphones not working when plugged in
2. Headphones showing as plugged in even when not plugged in
3. Headset microphone or button not working
4. Lightning or charger port connects and disconnects frequently
5. Lightning or charger port does not connect at all
The method shown in this video helps remove the foreign particles that get caught up in your device over time, which cause the pins and poles of your headphones and data connectors to not connect properly, resulting in errors and issues.

I can’t believe it! I literally only watched up to when you took out a tooth pick and grabbed one at home, declogged some unthinkable pocket lint from the port on the phone, plugged in my headphones and they started work. Dude you actually may have saved me from having to go and buy another phone!! Thank you!!

Yeah, a needle will work but has a much higher chance of causing some damage, which is why I recommend wood or plastic.

@@blackcath3dral - yes, anything that isn't made of metal is an option, however those earbuds can leave little bits of residue behind, and also are often not hard enough to pick up and scrape off the little bits of crud in there. Worth a short if you have nothing else! A wooden skewer will work too.

I had issues with the earphone jack and charging port. It would occasionally work but has been loose quite a lot. After watching your video I established that it was dirty and needed to be cleaned. Now the earphone jack is never loose and the charging works fine. Thanks for the video Pete. You're a genius

Oh my god...I was literally panicking that why my earphones were not working in my android tab as they were were working on other devices. I used to have the problem of my phone not playing any sound because the crud was gathering on the contacts and the device thought it was connected to a dock so it would disable the speakers. I’ve always used a toothpick to clear the dirt that gathers in the ports. Had this problem occur three times total and all three were fixed in less than 20”. Solid advice Always be extra careful when you stick pointy objects in sensitive electronics, although toothpicks are soft enough that they can’t cause damage to the internal, I believe.

Thanks man! This problem showed to me 3-4 days ago and I tried to clean it with a neddle a removed a lot of dirt but it still didn't work, now I tried with a thoothpick and it worked. I was about to buy a new jack but you saved me. Thanks!

Cant believe the amount of lint that came out of the jack. Had an issue where the iPad would mistakenly think there were headphones connected, and now the regular sound is working again, thank you! 🙏

this video is actually REALLY HELPFULL!! I thought my earphones got broken but when I tried using it to other devices it was working fine..so I realized the culprit was my iphone, I thought of going to the repairman or something. Then I came across this video, and followed your advice. And yeah, I found a lot of gross stuff in there :D It really works, now Im listening to your video again with my earphones on. thanks!

So I managed to fix it without having to get it sent to someone to fix. I took a small piece of foil and wrapped it around the earphone jack and sent it in slowly. Once it bit inside I twisted the jack and got it to work. I now have sound with music and with voice.

Much Appreciated Mate! Right..issue #4 ere. I ordered new charger cables&was still aving the same issue. Got out the toothpick, worked it for 5 minutes, and the dust&crud came out. Saved me from going to the local service shop. 🤘🏾
