MicroAvionics are now world renowned for making very high quality headsets, not only for the Microlight world, but the paramotor and paraglider world.
Eddie Cartwright is a very clever engineer who is always looking to push the boundaries of what is possible.
MicroAvionics make Microlight flexwing fully integrated helmets and intercoms which I have used over the years.

British cottage industries, fantastic to see them thriving. Great video Giles not sure Bose would be that efficient or give that service even though they charge £1k for a headset that has half the features.

A very typical British Cottage industry. Although they are just about to move to bigger premises. Eddie is a pilot so knows what is needed.

I hope the mic takes away the pulsing noise in vlogs, I think Tucker has the best audio so far Ive heard

Yes he does have the best sound quality going but that is specifically for vlogging. The PM100 is an aviation headset that does significantly more, vlogging is a plus for me. When you say pulsing noise, I'm not sur what you mean?

Finally got around to watching this, thanks for filming, they seem like a great British company. I've only ever seen them in one other You Tube film, nowhere else. Superb support for UK users too. I'll share this with my buddies 😊👍

MicroAvionics are now sold by AviatorPPGand have been around the microlight world for a while. I've been really impressed with the support and functionality of my PM100. I also have one of their microlight full helmets for flying the twinset aircraft.

Hi Mike, they have helped and supported me, it was the least I can do to show the behind the scenes staff at work. There were more honest, but not all wanted to be on camera.

Had my Microavionics headset and helmet since 2007. So looking for a completely new setup - love the idea of Bluetooth calling. It must be a must now. Giles thanks for the updated information with Eddie.

Hi Giles, i got myself an ozone Roadster 3, OMG, You weren’t wrong saying i’d notice a big difference from my last wing, nova rota, it comes up so easily, just waiting for the right motor to come up & i”ll be back in the air. Defo going micro avionics for headset.

The vlog mod has certainly made my job easier. You can get a line out from the connector at the back to go the go pro.

Great video Giles, I have to stuff foam behind my headsets to seal properly and my gel pads are leaking! I didn't know they did extra thick ones so I'll be ordering a set! Keep up the good work.

Love this video! I've recently replaced my 2013 headset with a new one, good to see the development is still going strong! I had no idea there is voice activation in the Pm100, do the new sets come with this as standard?

The problem with making videos like the one you suggested is that it's only for a specific Gopro as all the camera settings and and mic levels are different.

I really should talk to them about a GA headset for the KUB to see if I can get away from the mask, that said I do like the noise reduction on my head set.

Algy, you can but try. The UL200 is active noise cancelling.

I have a MA helmet and head set with Blue Tooth. Will my six month old Blue Tooth do the call like that? Is this a new Blue Tooth you are showing us or just how the old one works? Two criticisms I have: 1) I wish there was a led light telling me I was charging the head set and telling me it was fully charged. 2) I wish there was a led light on the out side of the ear cup. I've put my helmet away, on more then one occasion, and forgot to turn it off because the power on led is located on the inside of the ear cup and a bit hard to see. Other than these two issues, I love my helmet. Thanks for another great video.

It drives me nuts that calls come in whilst flying without any notice..I.e it doesn’t beep, or have a ringtone etc before connecting the call, and then the call volume is so low you can hardly hear.

Which version of the module do you have. The Gen 4 is very clear. I think you can set up your phone to not auto answer.

Eddie from MA here. I guess you have an older version of Bluetooth. We are limited by the availability of Bluetooth modules. We changed about 9 months ago to a new model of Bluetooth and this has a digital audio processor, so clearer telephone calls. Also increased BT audio. We would design our own BT module from scratch, but the cost would be so high you would not buy the headset, and hence we have to use certified modules from large US companies.

@@eddiecartwright3159 it's about 14/15 months old, so not very old really. It's a shame, cos I love everything else about the comms. I wish I'd been made aware though of this downside though.. Cos it means I can't use the headset for phone comms really.

@@GolfFoxtrot22 no I was trying to and it wouldn't pair to the phone. The headset showed up as 3 different devices 2 with letters and numbers like gibberish then the 3rd as BCL419 or something like that before I gave up. When I clicked on the BCL one it said I need and app to connect. I have a Galaxy not 10 plus.

@@joyfulpyro2589 have you tried to EMAIL MicroAvionics directly, they do respond quickly. I don't work for them, I'm just a product user. On my version 4 Bluetooth it shows up as MicroAvionics and a few letters and numbers. My old version 3 was a just a letters and numbers. Have you tried going somewhere where there isn't any other Bluetooth devices nearby? Just trying to help.

Morning buddy how our you I've just got the micro avionics head set with Bluetooth I can connect to phone and other devices but my 8 inch Samsung tablet will not connect it shows up as micro avionics then changes to LE_BM62_DSPKv2.1.3 MCHP the rest I need the headset on tablet is I run gaggle on it and I can see it in flight hahaha be great if you have any idea on the problem thanks Giles

Hi Frosty, the only thing I can think of is the Version of blue tooth on the Tablet. Have you tried calling Micro Avionics as they are really helpful.

Turn switch 3 ON, then re-try. Or press the PTT and re-try, obviously don't fly doing this with a radio connected.

@@GolfFoxtrot22 Shipping isn't the problem (even with the COVID supply chain issues). It's the fact that the UK is now a third country, and didn't even get any basic customs arrangements. Buying from the UK is for all intents and purposes the same as buying from Nigeria, Costa Rica or Cambodia. That means customs hold ups, unpredictable charges and valuation processes, and more time spent on sorting out clearance. It'll sort itself out eventually but damage is being done.
