Headway teve sua estréia mundial no LA Shorts International Film Festival (LA Shorts Fest), em Los Angeles (California, EUA), em 2018, um festival que qualifica pro Oscar e é considerado um dos mais prestigiados festivais de cinema do mundo. Além deste, Headway foi selecionado para outros 16 festivais ao redor do mundo e ganhou um total de 12 prêmios.
Sinopse:
O curta-metragem fala sobre duas jornadas interiores: a de um menino de onze anos que precisa lidar com as singularidades do autismo, e a de um lutador de MMA que, aos quase quarenta anos, enfrenta o delicado momento da aposentadoria. Ambas as histórias se convergem em um profundo e emocionante encontro e um passa a ser para o outro a saída que precisam para superar suas questões.
Synopsis:
An eleven-year-old boy deals with the singularities of autism, and a late thirties MMA fighter faces the delicate moment of retirement. Both stories converge in a deep and exciting encounter that triggers within each the solutions to overcome their issues. The film is based on true characters.

Camila q filme maravilhoso! Acompanhei seu irmão nos últimos 21 anos. Fui nas últimas lutas dele, e vi a angústia dele. Sei o quanto relutou em parar. A vida se encarregou de colocar ele nesse projeto e ele está retornando para o universo tudo que ele recebeu, do jeito que ele sabe fazer, com o dom que Deus lhe deu. Sou amigo e fã de carteirinha. I also have a nephew and a niece that have autism, we do need to be carefully with them, and let them slowly learn, that's the way to get in touch with them, anger and frustrations or fors will never work for these kids, and also how you say things to them, these kids are very touchy. It was emotional to watch this movie, but also very great to see how his uncle dealt with that boy. Thanks for sharing.

As a father of two boys ((now adults) with high-functioning autism this is a great story of overcoming, of someone taking the time to figure out what works for the child. My boys still have their own issues, both in different ways. In this case, Ben found ways to cope and to make his mark on the world in his own way, with the help of an uncle who didn't just hold him back because of his limitations. No disrespect to the mom, I believe she tried, but sometimes you need other perspectives/help. Ben's uncle was partially his inspiration to want to try to step out of his shell. I know not every person with autism is able to interact with others on the same level, some may never be able to. This is just one story, one based in truth.

¡Olé, Olé y mil veces Olé! Qué historia bonita y qué bien contada. En este mundo caótico y plagado de horrores aparece este vídeo, lleno de ternura, de bondad, de esperanza en el ser humano. Y me toca el alma, me conmueve profundamente hasta hacerme llorar. Y doy gracias por ello a todos los que lo han hecho posible, a los guionistas, productores, a esos magníficos actores que han interpretado maravillosamente esta historia maravillosa. Magnifique ! Cet homme a commis des erreurs, mais il a su s'adapter à cet enfant autiste. Il a su l'intéresser à sa pratique sportive et l'aider à progresser par le sport. Il a su nouer des liens affectifs avec cet enfant particulier. C'est une belle histoire, très touchante.
