Despite its multiple flaws, I still consider Healin' good worthy of being in the better half of the franchise. For me that includes Futari wa (OG), Splash Star (the forgotten), Yes!5 (in my eyes perfect if it wasn't for Milk...), Fresh (the revolution), Heartcatch (need I say why), Smile (deserves its popularity) and Go! Princess (worst movies though). God, I wanted to include Hugguto here, but that show had the biggest downfall in quality precure has seen. Thankfully, Healin' good didn't suffer as much, even though there is a plague going on. I'm praying Tropical Rouge keeps it up (so my list is actually half of the franchise).

A really excellent review! This season could probably be best summed up with "it's flawed, but still greatly enjoyable". And considering this was made during a pandemic, I tip my hat to the show's staff for still being able to produce a relatively great season. At least the flaws aren't God awful, and are more along the lines of "this was good, but it could've been better." But I'm in full agreement---without a doubt, this season has some of the best character development, and gave us the best fairy partners and pink lead in the whole franchise.

There is a reason why I think that this is in my top 10 Pretty Cure series of all time. It tackled really mature themes, it had some of the best animation, best villains and best character development in the entire franchise. I quickly warmed up to Cure Earth because of her 100,000 memes, due to the old Makoto Virus. Now I would't put it in my Top 5, oh no sir, but. I would put it above Doki Doki Pretty Cure, Fresh Pretty Cure, and Hugtto Pretty Cure Well Healin Good, you will be missed dearly.

While we can say many things about Healin’ Good, either for its pros or the crippling flaws, wether they are caused by the pandemic or not, at least the show doesn’t skip a beat in characterization. Honesty, for all the odds against the season thanks to the worldwide crisis and a very controversial topic, I say it overall succeeds for the most part. It still delivered such strong messages such as how we should keep fighting to pull through and live. On top of that, it even goes the extra mile to show while the battle against the byogen is overall, the war for Earth’s sustainability have just begun because it’s not just nature, we are a major influence in or lives as well, for better or worse. Just look how rapid the coronavirus spread during Spring Break in US because we didn’t heed the word of our health specialists. And then we have our characters and oooooh boy, aren’t they some of the best batch of lovable characters since Go! Princess’ Haruka, Minami, Kirara, and Towa? The fairies......just wow. So much character and development. Haven’t seen this since Smile’s Candy. The villains are awesome and hilarious, especially Shinodoine and Batetemoda (Miss that guy). Also threatening at times, especially Daruizen. King Byogen is painfully uninteresting but he gets at least a good moment or two, I guess. Asumi, isn’t the best 6th Ranger but I actually like how she’s willing to sacrifice herself. Imo, that’s her character defining moment. (That and the rap) Chiyu is, surprisingly, well focused for a smart Cure. Getting an appropriate amount of focus with a unique twist that actually work out for her, showcasing how capable she is. Hinata’s relatable flaw about screwing up all the time is also great and showcase how we shouldn’t let the thought of screwing up stop us from trying. And of course, we have Nodoka. She rightfully earns her spot with Black, Dream, Peach, Blossom, Happy, Flora, Yell, and so on in being a good, no, excellent leader. A breath of fresh air in personality, a great motivation, and a great twist in helping people. She did more than made up for the opposite that’s Hikaru. Again, there’s a reason why she (and certain folklore Pink) were in Japan’s Top 10 heroines in 2020 (netatopi.jp/article/1290/363/amp.index.html?__twitter_impression=true) . Sure, Hinata could have gotten more development and Asumi hogged too much of it but hey, at least it doesn’t outweighs the good stuff. Finally, we have the fights and I have to say, after 2 years of enduring mediocrity with Kirakira’s trading physical combat with uncreative batter spamming attacks and Star Twinkle’s poor sub attacks and overuse of restock animation and still images, Healin Good fights are surprisingly decent. I was rather worried that they would go the KiraKira route after seeing the Healin Sticks but no, they actually them and use hand to hand combat in conjunction! It helps that the villains will frequently spice things up. It’s not perfect, though. Like all seasons, dud fights are still present and Earth is too OP in her earlier episodes, making the other look inferior in comparison. Because of this, I can’t say it’s on par with the fights from Go! Princess, Heartcatch, Smile, or hell, even the OG. (Then again, barely any season came close) but it’s definitely above average with some really good ones in the mix. Overall, it’s not a super exciting season we hoped for after the eye rolling previous season but with its messages, characters, and a few liberties, it’s definitely at least one of the good ones. The staff deserves major props for fighting such an uphill situation. And with that, I sadly say Healin Goodbye to Healin Good and happily say Tropical Hello to Tropical Rouge. Let’s hope it brings as much smiles as the namesake season it’s often compared to! Really appreciate posting out this analysis, Azen. It must have been a development hell.

Healin' Good was the first full Precure season i have watched in years throught it's run. The last one was Go Princess and that was back in 2015-2016. I started Mahou Tsukai but ended the run after only first 3 episodes, as i think i had been a little burned out on Precure, as a friend got me into the franchise back in 2013 with Suite, and following it i started a massive Precure marathon throught the rest of 2013 to early 2014 by going through all the seasons in order. That, and i was also focusing a lot on other things at the time of 2016. I ended up skipping Kirakira season, as well as Hugtto and Star Twinkle. And despite some of the flaws Healin' Good had, wheter they were because of the pandemic or not, it was a lot of fun.

The season was flawed but it has really strong moments that removed itself from what usually happens from the past seasons. The elemental bottles where an okay gimmick just like the full bottles from Build and thankfully, they aren't spotlight stealers as well. I like how it deviated from the usual Precure tropes in general. Best example was Chiyu's choice of doing both careers instead of focusing on just one. The most important aspect for this series has always been its character development. Nodoka has been by far one of the most mature Pink Cures as of late. Now I'll be honest, one of the reasons why I loved this season was because of how underwhelming(in my case), Star Twinkle was. Although Star Twinkle has it strong moments, I felt that the overall plot of the series was a bit too much for the writers. Same can be said for the writers of Healin Good but at the very least, it has guidance and seems to stick to the theme which I still have problems identifying in Star Twinkle. Overall, Healin Good was an okay season. It has its flaws but still managed to close it out in a good way.

I guess that’s why I had a better time with Healin Good too, despite it shortcomings. It simply has elements that was gravely missed in recent seasons. Character focused episodes that actually flesh the group out, villains that are permanently terminated, proper combat.

I also hate the "Garza was being brainwashed" twist, he was a so interesting villain like the Scar of Super Sentai and in the end was a mind control spell, if at least the effect where appearing over the years but no he started hating on his brother in the exact moment. I think it was foreshadowed in episode 4, but in that episode he was lying that he was brainwashed and he said he joined Yodonheim because he wanted.

Thanks for the review, and I agree on your points on Healin' Good. This is not the best Precure series, not by a long shot, but overall, it is still good because it is refreshing. How many Precure series has the villians all killed off, and have little to no redeeming qualities? Not a lot I can tell you, in fact it can be count on one hand. This Precure series to me has the balance of being funny, but also very good in it's character focus story. While the main story and world building suffer, in more ways than one, the characters did make up for most of it. On top of it all, they have one of the best written fairy characters in this franchise to date, something not a lot of Precure series has done. Another thing I would like to point out is the music. While I am not really that crazy on music, especially in Precure where I don't find myself liking most of the music, Healin' Good has some great and catchy soundtracks that I really enjoy, and that also carries over to Tropical Rouge, which also has some amazing tracks. And speaking of that, it all comes down to why I like this series and why I think this series is very important to the franchise, despite the pandemic. This series is, like the title of Azenzone's video, the beginning of a new era. Healin' Good has made many risky choices that not many of Toei staffs would think it is great, or even profitable. And yet, they made them, and to me, it turned out for the better, because it is something we haven't seen in this franchise for a long time, and a couple of new things has made the series shine on it's own. Another reason is Healin' Good is the Precure series that has given me hope for the franchise moving forward. After 3 Precure series that really disappoints me, I would put this as my final Precure series if it disappoints me again, and yet, despite the lack of world building, the mishandled of the story and some of the characters, the very boring Asumi arc, it didn't. I thoroughly enjoy it, and I am also looking forward to the future of this franchise. Healin' Good is also the first Precure series that has a huge push to the western audience, and has started to stream legally too. Which is something to say after the west tried to put Precure in the west TWICE, but ultimately failed. So with that, I would like to say thank you to Healin' Good, for giving me not only a reason to continue this franchise, but also a reason to keep living and looking forward to the future.

Yep, after fail attempts of the franchise trying to redeem villains who are attempting to nuke the world, time, and the goddamn universe, I’m glad Healin Good reminds us that some villains have to pay. Really, I think the reason people want Daruizen redeemed because it happens too often, especially with the irredeemable. Healin Good is unfortunately not one of the best seasons but at least it’s one of the good ones with the characters ultimately outshining many of the Cures that came after Go! Princess.

It's my first season fully watched while it aired and is a bit special for me because of that. While flawed, I think it's still very enjoyable and I liked all main characters. I find only Asumi to be underdeveloped and I as I wrote, I would prefer her as time-traveler/actual original Cure Earth than... spirit? I never fully understood that other than "she is not human". I think her arc about learning the world, why repetitive, was OK and her otherness in this regard was handled well. When it comes to Hinata, I find her well developed and very fun character. I don't think she lacked personality or amount of episodes focused on her. But I agree her arc lacked closure? One one hand, it's realistic that self-confidence issues return again and again, but fiction is different and more closed off arc would be better to view. As for ADHD aspect - I think it would be nice if they adressed unspecifed "learning difficulty" (I had a friend in primary school that was suspected to have ADHD, but was later diagnosed with different disorder) and how Hinata deals with it as a part of her story and it fits Healing themes. Lack of story progression in my opinion isn't a bad thing but it needs stron stand-alone episodes (like early Heartcatch?). this is the season without "victim of the week, but also because of that world felt empty? I think slice of life episodes would be better with Cures interacting more with side characters, classmates, families. I agree about Asumi destroying team dynamics in fights. I'm also curious how far they were with production of the show when pandemic hit? I mean, clipshow episode would be obvious to cut, especially with Olympics not happening, but it had to be already partially made? And I really like Nodoka. I think the fact that her ilness was caused by "magical" parasite does not make her arc any weaker? She was ill for many years and got better, nobody knew why. Reaction of her doctor was very realistic. Yes, her illness was caused by byogens, but it could be any other ilness that we know very little about. And Nodoka was physically weaker for years spent in bed and had to rebuilt her stamina etc. And for redeemed villains - it's just... so sad how trends and overusing of some concepts shape how we perceive things. Like, you can have very good story with redeemable villans (maybe not all team of villains, but only some of them?) and people will react to it less enthusiastically because they are tired of it. Even if story was very well made. And maybe it will be perceived a lot better after years, when people are able to see it as more than just a trend they are tired of. Like, I love forgiving heroes who try to help even villains. You sometimes bring how your upbringing make you see the series and I think that beacuse I'm catholic.. well I have a soft spot for martyr'like heroes (IF ITS DONE GOOD). I personally think Nodoka could try to help Daruizen and he can still be irredeeable - she tried to help him, but realized he is exploiting it and is still dangerous and she had to defeat him. She given him a chance, he refused it. But I still love Nodoka and respect her decision. I think the aspect they could discuss more during the fight is that if she will accept him back as a parasite in her body, she will be unable to fight King Byogen. It will weaken her. Maybe propse alternative like "stop undermining Earth and we will protect you but no back being parasite in my body. And he refuse this? I was suprised by this arc beaing metafor for gender inbalance. I never saw it this way. It was just (literally) parasitic relationship in my eyes? I also think how they handled Nodoka is making very clear that she IS very kind and WANT to be kind to everyone. She cried before battle with Daruizen and was very conflicted and needed Rabirin's support. I just wished other that self care aspect they made more clear that helping Daruizen will make her unable to help others as Precure? Same for forgivness. You can forgive villain but that not equal redeeming them. For example like in ATLA's ending, Aang did not killed Ozai and stayed true to his morals, but Ozai is still put in prison. You can have sympathy for other humans, but it does not make them "redeemed". i also liked how they build the revelation about Nodoka and Daruizen connection. I was thinking that infected animals became byogens (like Battetemonda actually was that poor animal) and generals are infected humans. But instead their presence is badeg on what body they used as a parasite. I also love the mascots and... I have nothing to add, as anyone know they are great! Overall, I think it really solid series with weaknesses like almost no plot progession without as many strong stand-alone episodes and lack of secondary characters, but It is consistent in its message and characterization and just... competent? After Star Twinkle it's needed. I also loved more down-to searth tone. I think it fits Nodoka's calm personality and it works.

This was definitely worth the wait. Your reviews are always full of interesting thoughts and I appreciate youtubers like you in the fandom. I agree with almost all of your points. I loved this series for its characters like no other since Smile (which was my first series, so of course I'm biased). The main cast along with the fairies was just fantastic. I also thought this series had some of the highest stakes. Unfortunatelly, the amount of filler episodes really hurt its potential and lore. I especially thought they could have done more with Asumi - Perhaps make her feel like she has to live up to her predecessor and save everyone, but she would eventually learn to count on her team. Also, while episode 42 is one of my favorites in the franchise, I really wanted Daruizen to return for the final episode. That way he would have become my favorite Precure villain for sure. Overall, while I wouldn't recommend this series to a newcomer, I think it's a good adition to the franchise and I liked it for what it was.

I felt that this is one of the most fairly decent seasons was had in a while. With the biggest flaw being way too safe to the point of being boring in the middle. It did sort of picked up near the end at least. Nodoka was probably the best part of the season as a refreshing take as a lead cure and I did like her solo episodes. Hinata had potential but the writing screwed her over. Not a fan of Chiyu but they did some interesting stuff with her at some points. Also thank you for your thoughts on Garza! I freaking thought the same thing too as it felt way too forced. While I personally think that Kirameiger handled the covid set back and their fillers better than Healin Good, that did bugged me the wrong way. Though Garza was at least a decent villain before this.

As I said before I know this series is not perfect and I understand why they forced to rushed writing for this series, all I can say for this series despite it has flaws, it's still enjoyable to watch. I'm going to write what did good and bad for this; Good 1. The fairies manage to gave contribute to the show as a character. 2. The power up items are even more useful function than the power up items in Star Twinkle 3. The motif for this show was interesting, it connects what the aspect should be. 4. Great storytelling and world building. 5. The Cures and the Villain were entertaining. 6. The Mega Part was also the most interesting aspect in the entire show, as I said before the Mega Part has a similar aspect from the Item "Part" in Megaman series. Bad 1. Having a Filler Episodes after being a hiatus for a month is not good idea because it delays a room for a character and story telling, so it shouldn't be there. 2. Removing Batetemoda permanently after being introduced to us for 8 episodes is not a good decision - He is my favorite villain generals and a good tactician. He was the most contribute villain than the Trio. 3. I really do like Cure Earth but the way they introduced the character copied the way they introduced Cure Ace, so yeah it seens they never learned from that mistake. 4. No backstory for Shindoine and Guaiwaru on who is there host - only Daruizen has. 5. Having a Overpowered cure like Cure Earth is losing the show's trilling. Overall: Healin Good is a masterpiece show despite it has flaws, it has great ideas, useful characters, and awesome story arc. Healin Good manage to heal on what Star Twinkle messy imagination did. Healin Good is now my favorite season.

I just thought of something rather interesting that could've been implemented for a season 2 of Healin' Good, or could've benefited from both Dairuizen redemption and Nodoka's decision to not save him. If Nodoka was being haunted by Dairuizen's spirit only to discover it was an Antibody left over by his strain of the Byogen virus inside of her. He agrees that what she had done was right after all he had done to her, her family, her doctors, and many others close to her, and suggesting his Antibody inside of her should be used to stop King Byogen. This could theoretically satisfy both the fans who wanted to see him redeemed while also justifying Nodoka's decision in the conflict. Though since it wasnt exactly the Dairuizen who she denied rescuing they are still one in the same only the Antibody Dairuizen was also a part of Nodoka protecting her from future infections like a real antibody would. In fact it would have been interesting to see the antibody providing the team's final power up if Daruizen was taken care of sooner. If that makes sense.

On King Byogen's VA, he also happened to voice the main antagonist of the Blue Sky Film: Epic known as Mandrake. In similar vain to Darkness, Mandrake had similar powers to King Byogen and had a bit of a similar strong relation with a general. for Mandrake it was Dagda, and for the King it was Shindoine. I don't want to spoil the plot of Epic, but I do have a head cannon that King Byogen is Mandrake reborn and rather than dealing with Chris from Syphogear[yes there is a character with her VA in Japan,] He now has to deal with the Goddess of Hope: Madoka. Personally i don't think Daruizen should have been offed like that. Mostly because he's technically a child villain. I feel like if he was redeemed he could have volunteered himself to be the fuel for the vaccination needed to stop King Byogen by merging with Nodoka. Yes it would be erasing his existance still but at least i would feel a lot less guilty and sick inside watching two fictional child characters in the same show be murdered. After all unless the writers don't plan on killing ANY of their villains the ones around the pretty cure's age are often the only ones kept alive and are given either redemptions like 90% of the villains turned PreCure, or in Ira's case in Doki Doki have him go back into hibernation despite wishing he didn't have to constantly fight the pretty cure (especially when you consider the fact that the writers implied that he was developing feelings for Rikka after what she did for him when he had amnesia) Healin' Good just makes me feel yucky inside because its the first time in pretty cure that the Child Villains are confirmed to be Dead by the end of the shows run. And as someone who wants to basically become best dad like Maes Hughs from fullmetal alchemist when I get married and have kids, it leaves me with a bitter taste in my mouth...

@@Healeon well its how he physically looks closer to be around Nodoka's age, that is what gives me a child impression from him. I think a better term would be the Kid of the villain faction. Yes he is a personified virus in a show that was unfortunate to broadcast due to ironically a real life pandemic. But he is still depicted as the kid of the group. Doesn't help that his "mini me" in Kedary from Nodoka's relapse episode PREVIEW gave off a "the byogens are a mind controlling race of virus" vibe. While i can understand that mind control is an overused and annoying trope, the idea that a child becoming exposed to it and managing to make the rank of a general bent on further spreading the infection was fascinating...that is until the episode aired and instead of being a toned down hive mind virus, they parallel how most mothers feel when their kids act bratty "I brought you into this world, i can just as easily take you out" Plus he did show hesitation in acquiring too much power from the mega parts when he was ordered to insert one inside of himself. Which i feel was the seed for some sort of face turn.

Ah...Healin Good Precure... Is it one of the best seasons of the franchise? Absolutely not; the worst perhaps? That’s not it either, far from that spectrum. For me, this season’s like Hugtto in a way: flawed or rushed on some parts but overall not terrible. Heck, at the very least this one tried to go back to what Precure used to be without going too far with the parent’s complaints about it being “too violent”...what we got is overall alright. I would give it a rewatch because of the characters, both heroes and villains alike. Yeah, THAT ruined their original plan of giving more character depth into some of the characters but what they got to show us ain’t half bad. =v= Fights: Mixed bag but overall just above average. Some are good, some are meh...few greats and facepalms. Villains: King Byogen: the big bad of HGP…Meh. Though his grand plan of infecting the whole town slowly by scattering bits of himself all over in plain sight, pretends to be in his weakened state back in his lair to let Guaiwaru “win” by his so-called coup and using him as his “host” to regain his strength…that was impressive, even for someone who’s just a black hole with a face back then. He’s a much better planner than what Diabetes (Diable) would ever do back in Kirakira XDD Shindoine: Born as Byogen’s simp, die as Byogen’s simp...though I agree she’s the most proactive one under his watch. She has her funny moments here and there, as well as having guts to fight back and being sinister (like that smile she gave to Guaiwaru before being killed off) but her love for Byogen has no boundaries. Could’ve had a better send off for her though...and knowing her origins. I would think her original host was from Chiyu cause u know...both have something they love but I digress. Pretty decent cadre =v= Guaiwaru: Yeah all brawn and no brain...but at least he’s trying to be smart. Yeah that grin of his at the near end of that season is a red flag for me (cause seriously, most of us knew what he’s doing to do...and the fact that he’s going to die first ^^;). Yeah I know he’s not the first villain who would backstab the big bad for their own personal gain but still, I’ll give him credit for at least trying. Did make an awesome end for him though; like Shindoine, we didn’t know his origins either. But overall, pretty decent. Daruizen: ah yes...the one cadre that many Precure fans went Gaga over his appearance and because of the opening with him towards his connection to Grace...and rightfully so. For someone so lazy and lacking empathy, he’s THAT bad...but in a love to hate kind of way and I like that aspect of this dude. Even before knowing that twist, their rivalry is pretty impressive. I wish they had at least one last chance to fight like with Flora vs Close but alas. ;;v;; Heroes: Asumi and Latte: I agree, the latter had more character growth than the former. Sure she tends to get sick a lot when a MOTW is nearby but she has her moments of fighting back AND not a baby plot device (like with Fuwa from STP...). Asumi though? She’s just on the ok range with me. She’s not a horrible character but not the best either. I was mad at her at first for doing MOST of the awesome fights since her debut but after being with the main trio, she’s alright. Personally, she could’ve had a painful side effect after putting Shindoine inside of her or something to increase the stakes of losing her because of that virus being too strong, even for her to handle, but oh well... Hinata and Nyatoran: *sigh* could’ve had a few more episodes with the former but overall, I enjoy their dynamic. Both have a very hyperactive personality, the former especially...but at least she’s AWARE of that (yeah looking at you Ichika and Hikaru =H=) and trying to get better. She fails sometimes but that’s ok, she gets back up and tries again. She even does things to cheer her friends up as well, especially to her fairy partner; same in vice versa. Yeah the ending of her arc felt rushed but seeing them bond like that...very impressive. Chiyu and Pegitan: now these two...these two surprised me. At first glance, considering their looks, I assumed Chiyu’s the typical blue cure...but she’s more than that. Like u said, she’s more into a traditional approach. She’s the most subtle but in terms of character growth, she’s on par with the rest of her team. Not to mention, she manages to overcome BCS and gets to make her own choices in doing what she wants. Don’t know how she’ll pull it off but still I’m happy for her. Same can be said for her partner as well. Pegitan was a timid little penguin but after being with Chiyu, he gained a bit more confidence. I like to give thanks to both Chiyu’s witness of the Heavenly Blue and this line both said to each other: “If you don’t have enough courage, I’ll give you some of mine”. Words to live by :3 Nodoka and Rabirin: the best ones. Need I say more? Cause u already said what makes them the best pair ups =v= Bonus: - all of the side characters are alright. My personal favorites were Nodoka’s former doctor and both her and Chiyu’s family; my least favorite is that journalist nerd =v= -Batetemoda: Yeah...bonus cadre. He only came for a short while but overall, pretty good. I thought he’ll literally come back like what happened to Close, since Byogen flat out said “I’m saving him for later” but alas. Though since u said that coup was originally for him...but since he’s dead and was given to Guaiwaru instead, mmmm...looking at it now, I think that’s a good choice on the writer’s part Overall, I’m gonna miss this season. Flawed but overall, not that bad. Yes I know they still have Precure 5 to join in but still, I’m gonna miss them UvU

Healin Good Precure did started off alright but half way throught the episodes later and the episode finale turn out a bit of a disappointed. Because I was expecting the time skipped in the second half of the episode were we'll see Nodoka, Chiyu, Hinata and Asumi all grown up in the future along with Rabirin, Pegitan, Nyatoran and Latte as the next Queen of Healing just like HUGtto! Pretty Cure and Star☆Twinkle Pretty Cure . But sadly this time that never happen which is a let down to the fans who watched Healin Good Precure😒. And what different this time in years that the villians in this series have no redemption like Daruizen for example but then again I don't think he and his allied don't deserve any redemption in this series after everything Daruizen put Cure Grace and her friends through as he shows no remorse or regret for his action. What I'm very disappointed about Healin Good Precure is that there weren't any Halloween and Christmas episode like the previous Precure series. I know it's not the series fault because of months delay last year thanks to Covid 19.

To be honest I thought that HGPC will be best season, because its first quarter of this season was very strong and outstanding. But after the hiatus it became to getting more slow pacing and disappointing. Ending was just sloppy and obviously rushed up due to outbreak. But I still would want to epic finale. Its protagonists were just above mediocre in overall, but despite her underdevelopedness my favourite in HGPC was Hinata in clear difference. Her possible ADHD issue and her encouraging is handled decently. Having a protagonist with a respiratory sickness was very good idea for environmental health themed season. But I think this idea is ruined and wasted by making Daruizen as course of Nodoka’ sickness. Instead, I would wish Nodoka had a weakness against the infected air element. Latte was just bland in overall, she did almost nothing other than get sick. And she didn't even recovered after partnered with Asumi the super ghost. Villains were just bad and bland in overall. Even Daruizen was handled poorly in my opinion. Collectibles of this season, element bottles was just a joke. None of them were significantly useful and used for unnamed attacks very poorly. In overall, unfortunately HGPC was mediocre season in overall despite having very strong introductionary arc. Number of 45 episodes were just enough for the such a simple and slow paced season.

I tried to like Healin' Good, I really do. I always say that characters is my main draw when watched Precure, and Healin' Good has some of the best character in the franchise. But in the end, by the mid point, I come to conclusion that the season is not for me, and I better wait for Tropical Rouge. There are two reasons for this, and the biggest one is (for me, a yuri fan) the lack of yuri-ness. You see, I like to ship, but it has to make sense for the ship to happen. It can't be just because two characters look good or close, but the media (anime, live-action, video games, etc.) has to intentionally show the characters as really close. Healin' Good's Precures are just not in that level. They are best friends, with their fairies included, but well, the show doesn't try to make people ship them, especially when they feed us with almost constant Shindoine simping over King Byogen. It doesn't make the show bad, but it makes me less enthusiastic to watch it. But the main reason I ultimately decide to drop it, is because the lack of worldbuilding as you said, especially because it also lack a strong plot as back up (at least until midpoint). Its biggest "sin" is giving my brain enough time to think "But what about ... !?". Each time I ask myself question related to the world, the event, or the characters, the more it reduce my enjoyment when I watched the show. Tropical Rogue so far and even series I dislike (Hugtto) have done a better job of making me focus on what happened, instead of what not happened. And without a good enough pairing to satisfy me, well, I can't continue watching. I am not sure about national viewer rating, but using animenewsnetwork data (which focus on Kanto, if I am not mistaken), the viewership is decidedly weaker than previous seasons. And I think for similar reason that I mentioned in this paragraph. The characters are good, but everything else are either bland or not enticing enough for viewer to continue. Which is a shame, because (again) Healin' Good characters, as you said, are fantastic! They are more consistently written than KiraKira. The series' view on Precure is something I agree with (unlike with Hugtto) and the theme is more cohesive than STP. Heck the first ED is competing with MTP's ED as my number 1 ED for Precure, ever. But in the end it is what it is. I hope Tropical Rouge (and future series) can grab my attention better than Healin' Good. And about a new beginning and sales number. Well, 2020 is not exactly great, and the sales number is almost GoPri level bad (sorry GoPri), but hey! It just means the only way to go is up! In the end, unlike GoPri (again, sorry GoPri), there is a good reason for the bad economic performance, so hopefully future seasons will be better, both reception wise, and commercial wise. Here for a better future!

The shipping part is ridiculous; why can't the character stay friends? What's the need in shipping them, and does this play a factor in what shows to enjoy?

@@Violentinthedaylight I mean, they can? I explicitly said that the show kept them in "just friend" territory. What's the need in shipping them? Well, different people enjoy different thing. Some enjoy good plot, other good fight. I enjoy shipping characters (when they are available). Just like some people can not enjoy KiraKira because KiraKira does not have a good fist fight, I can't really enjoy Healin' Good because the characters aren't shippable with each other. I am a yuri fan after all.
