**PLEASE READ
1- We are not doctors, and we are not claiming this will cure or heal anyone. We are simply sharing what is working for us.
2- This blend will last us 2.5-3 days in the fridge at the rate we eat it. That is not long enough for anything to break down or lose efficacy.
3 - We try and buy as much organic as we can, while not worrying about the things like banana where we don't eat the skin anyways.
4- We don't measure anything out when adding to this blend. We shop once a week and cut everything we get in thirds to make sure it lasts until we shop again, but you can add as little or as much as you want.

LOVE! IBS is a deep black hole, just like Auto-Immune diseases. This is why I was so excited when I saw your Instagram story. Because of inflammation issues, I have been eating a low-inflammation diet. It is hard for me to get the quantity of fruit/veggies, I need in a day, along with grains, fibers and etc. I am post-menopausal and let me tell you...she is a Biach! Excuse my french.👀I can't tell you when I was peri-menopausal and/or menopausal. Let me tell you, I am making up for lost time! This has been such a blessing for me. Thank you. Hi there! We honestly change this up weekly dependent on what we end up picking up at the grocery, and we never measure anything out. We shop once a week and use about 1/3 of what we get in every batch to make it last until we shop again. And the main thing we look for is diversity in color. The more different colors we can get in there, the better. ❤️

@chaddavis2501
@chaddavis2501 Ай бұрын
Hi Debbie, I hope you get a chance to try this and can maybe wean off the PPI’s. They can lead to higher LDL levels and increase overall serum cholesterol levels in the body. They can also cause negative effects on the microbiome by negativity changing the PH levels and killing the good and bad microbes. If this drink mixture, as simple as it is, can be added to one’s daily routine(starting off small with maybe 2-4oz) and slowly increased over a couple of weeks to maybe 8oz once or twice daily, I really believe it will dramatically help improve(or even heal) a number of gut issues. I am astonished as to how I feel now and how my gut feels vs 7-8 weeks ago before starting this. It really has been mind blowing! I do add in lemon juice to water during the day to help offset some of the oxalate found in certain vegetables. The citric acid and citrate will help keep kidney stones from forming and also help cleanse the kidneys;-) -Chad

Thank you for sharing this idea! I never thought about blending so many fruits and veggies and then adding it in small doses to protein shakes. What a great idea! I, too, struggle with gut issues and plan to incorporate more fruits veggies into my daily protein shake. In addition to the plant based milk and Greek yogurt in my shake, I also incorporate Kefir. Not only does it add extra protein, it has also helped my gut issues with all of its probiotic benefits. I use the unsweetened one and have grown to love the taste. I look forward to your workout video!

Thank you! I need to try this. I have a really hard time with veggies and some fruits. Some days I could not leave the house. Gastro drs said I have IBS and wanted to just write prescriptions. I don't want that. My regular dr suggested the FODMAP diet to figure out exactly what is causing the problem. Almost everything on the "no" list gives me issues. That leaves me with a very limited diet. I'd like a way to add some things back in in way I can which doesn't make me miserable.
@MandyDavisMUA
@MandyDavisMUA Ай бұрын
Yeah, I have tried the FODMAP too and it's hard to keep up and you feel like you can't eat anything. And that is why I don't want to go carnivore. Glad to hear you are finding success with your shake. I have had gut issues for years as well so can sympathize. You might want to be careful about which alternative milk you use. Many contains gums and thickeners which are harmful to the gut lining. Dr William Davis talks about this in his book, Super Gut, which is a great reference. Best wishes!

@MandyDavisMUA
@MandyDavisMUA Ай бұрын
It usually lasts no more than 2.5-3 days. If I were to mix it with anything else (like I use in my version of the shake), it would break down faster I think. But it’s not enough time for anything to break down or separate being just the fruits and veggies. And with us both using it 3-4 times a day total, it doesn’t last too long. 😂

Mandy I love this!!! I am obsessed with all the new dates on diet. I've always eaten clean, ex husband went to college for phys-ed then had a crossfit gym. My 22 yr old started having stomach issues. We dont even drink soda!! Nor fruit juices. I'm low carb low sugar even more. We figured out he was getting too much fiber!! Imagine thinking your doing the right thing. Then i started getting really achy joints and figured out the only think i did was add his granola to my yogurt with bluberries, flax and chia. Turns out when i cut out the granola out the inflammation achy joints went away!!😳 i started researching and they said u would have to soak them for days to get a certain ingredient out of the oats. My point is diet is so personal. I love that we can research now and see different stories here on KZfaq of thousands of ppl that have gotten off diabetic meds, high blood pressure meds, cured IBS ect just by changing their diet. So clearly i would love more videos!!!❤

I bet it’s the avenin protein/gluten compound in oats. Some people react to it the way others do to gluten rich sources like wheat and various grains. I am fortunate to not have that challenge. You are correct, what works for some may not work for others. I do think this type of shake can be extremely beneficial to so many. However, one might need to experiment to make sure he/she isn’t allergic or sensitive to anything added. I believe micodosing this shake in the beginning stage is vitally important to A) see how one reacts, and B) to allow one’s gut to rebuild as so many of the healthy microbes are fed each day. I am in shock at how much my skin has changed in terms of redness reduction and overall clearness in 7-8 weeks. I think that boils down to a happy gut 😊 -Chad

You can definitely have it for breakfast. Besides the protein powder and unsweetened coconut milk, I also add in 2tsp of Olive oil. A female might only want to use 1tsp. I like having 20-25% of my meal or shake coming from healthy fats like olive oil, almonds, avocados, etc… If you have a glucose monitor on the arm, you would simply adjust the added fruit or let’s say any other health carb source accordingly to lower the spike. Our shake probably yields 7-10g of carbs per serving….not counting any added fruit when we make the actual shakes in the smaller blender containers. Mandy has approximately 30g total carbs total in her shake and I have approximately 45g. She also has approximately 30g of protein and I have 40-45g. She has approximately 9-10g fat and I have 14-16g fat. These macros are just for this shake/meal. Thanks! -Chad

I also have gut issues and all the things you described.. high cortisol, insulin resistance, irritable bowl, leaky gut syndrome,auto immune disease, pcos. All which are connected to the gut, and also gluten according to my doctor. Unfortunately, I have had a bad reaction to smoothies a couple of times. One time, it caused me such much pain and gas, and I ended up throwing up. Not sure what happened, if it was too much fiber being stuck and having trouble getting digested, or maybe from the yogurt I put inside, maybe even the sugar from the fruit. I did some research and we have to be careful not to put too many servings in those smoothies. We can end up putting more servings in them compared to what we actually need to eat raw/cooked. Also, this can be too much fiber and sugar all at once. Also, in chinese medicine they say be careful drinking something cold really fast ,we need to slow down, it can cause the opposite. What they call fire in the gut..my smoothie defiantly had ice, and frozen fruits. They actually recommend to be careful with drinking veggies and fruit in a smoothie for all these reasons, it is better to chew them. So to this day I am not sure why I reacted this way, maybe a combination of all those things. I will be careful with the servings and milk products, and drinking too fast and consuming too much fiber/sugar as it can have trouble getting digested. ..maybe this caused a bad reaction for me at least.I still bought a vitamix to make smoothies and will try again.

The veggie/fruit mixture you see here doesn't add more than 8-12 carbs (half from veggies) to the smoothie with the amount we add. We mentioned microdosing for this reason. It isn't smart to have too much of anything, and one should always start small then add if you can. It, for some reason, works wonders for me. And I definitely don't drink it too fast. You can see me making my way through it while filming, and I still had half of it left when we shut the cameras off. We just wanted to share what works for us. I think the main takeaway should be to diligent to find what works for you, whether it is this or something else.

@MandyDavisMUA I totally agree. I think the way you went about it is good and you balanced it with veggies..and you said you kept that huge size for a few days and you yourself added a very small cup to drink..for me I think it wasn't that much to be honest , but I learned maybe it was, no more than 4 oz for me..I really didnt drink the whole thing at all( 16 oz cup) and i think i drank like 6 oz of an ice cold drink fast.. I ended up adding a full apple, berries, banana,yogurt, maybe some other stuff. But I learned be careful,one apple is one serving and then I'm over here adding berries, etc and drinking it out of a straw fast. It hit me like a train. I just wanted to put out my warning as well. Just people be careful and do it the right way because you can still get a reaction. Especially if you have gut issues or allergies. Don't over do it, drink slowly and like you said, microdose.

This video was very informative, I love a protein drink but I am a severe diabetic and could never have all the fruits that are incorporated in the shake. I also have pain in my stomach daily and dry so hard to eat a clean diet. I also tried the carnivore diet, never like meat but was willing to try anything to feel better. But became very sick from eating all the meat. I also lost 14 pounds which I did not want to lose, as soon as I went back to my so called healthy eating but the pain is awful. I am on a lose, lose situation. I also feel better if I just don’t eat but of course cannot do that. No doctor has ever been able to help me.

I will say, it seems like there are a lot of carbs in this shake, yet if you break it down into small 6-8oz portions for each shake, it is only 8-12 carbs(LOW GYLCEMIC Carbs) per portion;-) Even as a diabetic, meals in the 20-25g low glycemic range should be a healthy range when mixed with a quality protein and healthy fat ;-) The protein powder and fat ( I recommend approximately 8-10g of fat in this shake for most females I work with and I like an added 1tsp of Olive oil to the final blended shake one would be drinking) will drop the glycemic index rating even lower...which is a good thing. As mentioned in the video, I recommend microdosing the shake so that your body can "slowly" acclimate to the fruits/veggies within it. They are going to help strengthen and rebuild a MUCH STONGER microbiome/gut...which might take 60-90 days. Also, if time might allow, one could do a simple 8-10 minute walk after his/her meals to dramatically lower blood sugar spikes. I do believe that a diet should be one that, if possible, can contain both meats and plants to some degree. This will help insure all, or most all, key nutrients are included. This semi "pre-digested" shake might really help you to rebuild your gut so that you can avoid the unwanted bloating. Lastly, cutting out processed foods and packaged or canned meats can also really help. So many of the foods these days are filled with terrible preservatives and fillers...which can wreak havoc on one's gut.

Good Morning Mandy and Chad. Always enjoy seeing you two together, you’re such a beautiful couple. This is the BOMB Video. Chad, you are so so educated in nutrition, and I love how you researched and was and did find what Mandy needed to “Hopefully Fix Her Pain from eating Veggies. Do you use organic fruits and veggies in your Magic Smoothies? Mandy, I have Ulcerative Colitis and the Bloating and abdominal pain is sometimes horrific and absolutely miserable. I’ve got to start making these smoothies packed full of goodness for our Gut Health. Oh Chad, will you research ION Gut Goodness for Leaky Gut Syndrome? It causes puffiness and abdominal pain. They say it’s amazing how it helps in the health of healthy microbiome, therefore reducing the pain, ( inflammation and puffiness). Not to replace your Magicical Smoothies, but possibly an addition to. If you try it and or research, please do an overview of ION HEALTHY GUT! Thank you both so very much for sharing this amazing, important video. I hope you will continue doing Videos in regards to these topics. Oh and Rice! As I’m sure you know is the easiest digested food we can eat. Mandy, Iam Excited for you in that you aren’t having anymore of that horrible pain post eating veggies etc. great video. Thank You Chad for sharing your knowledge and explains the why behind drinking these smoothies for a healthy micro biome/ gut. Please share more. With Ulcerative Colitis, you have tons of mucus in your stools and blood, chronic colon inflammation and I am so limited as to the veggies I can eat as well as dairy. Mandy, have you had a Colonoscopy and EGD? I really hope that both of you have. It’s so very important, especially when you’re having these kind of problems. How can they(Dr’s) dx you without looking inside the colon and small intestines. Have a great weekend you two.

I will definitely look into that Karla. Thanks for sharing. Also, I know it may sound unappealing, yet look into fecal transplants. I was at a seminar a couple of years ago at Vanderbilt, and they were on the cutting edge of fecal transplant research. It was astonishing at how effective it was at totally, or almost totally, healing Crohn’s disease and other gut related diseases or illnesses. I think it will be one of the next big medical advancements to occur. Many hospitals now offer it. Per the research, they are still unsure why, but the recipients often respond best to a healthy individual donor living in the same household…or that is possible. I do believe this drink mixture, if started in small doses, 2-3oz per day and then slowly increased until one might get to 6-8oz once or twice per day, can really strengthen the gut biome and heal many of the illnesses associated with it. It does take time, at about the 4 week point is when I really saw the differences start to occur and it kept getting better. It truly is amazing. Have a great day! -Chad

The challenge I have with carnivore is lack of diversity to feed the microbiome. It can lead to success for many who have bloating and battle weight loss, yet I do think micro dosing this predigested blend of diversified fruit/vegetables is a healthier option and overall better long term for creating a super healthy gut that will fight off illnesses better. When done correctly, it shouldn’t yield high insulin spikes and if made correctly, should fall into one’s healthy lifestyle diet or eating regiment. Also, I do think the carnivore can be too hard to sustain for many. I did it years ago and realized it wasn’t something I could do on a regular basis. After countless hours of research, I have seen studies that show it isn’t the best route. With all of that being said, the reduction or bloating and inflammation via the carnivore diet is most likely due to the reduction of insulin spikes and blood sugar. That is where nutrient timing and proper macro ratios come into play with a diet consisting of plants, fruits, grains, beans, meats, eggs, healthy fats, etc… After working with thousands of clients in my years as a fitness and diet coach, I realized that most overdid the healthy macros(outside of the bad). So many would eat too many healthy carbs or fats, not knowing or realizing that too much of anything can lead to a caloric surplus and lead to weight gain…or bloating. Women in menopause or perimenopause are even more susceptible to caloric or macro intake. Glucose management is definitely key for women in the 40+ age range…along with cortisol management. Have a great day! -Chad

Chad sounds very knowledgeable but I can’t help but think you are just allergic to all of these plants. Diversifying your microbiome means nothing if your histamine response to these toxins is through the roof. Just try a a good old fashioned elimination diet of meat, water and electrolytes and get rid of the inflammation. Let your body be fueled by what it needs, just nutrition and ketones, then slowly add things back in to start to diversify our diet. You don’t need these things but sounds like you want to be able to eat a variety of foods, but if you’re allergic, it’s not going to get better…they will continue to make you uncomfortable. The studies out there are mostly junk…there is no such thing as an essential carbohydrate…only fat and protein.
@MandyDavisMUA
@MandyDavisMUA Ай бұрын
I am guessing that since my stomach hasn't hurt since I started incorporating these things, that actually means I am not allergic...that my gut needed the microdosing of variety. And you are right....I am not wanting to eat meat only for the rest of my life. For me, that is not sustainable. My feeling is you have to do what works for you, and this is working for me. Have a great day!
@chaddavis2501
@chaddavis2501 Ай бұрын
I definitely don't think Mandy was allergic to any of the vegetables or fruit, due to the shake causing Mandy's bloating, for the most part, to go away. I do agree that if one is allergic to something, it would need to be pulled out. With that being said, even some have allergies to meat, thus can't have various forms. Also, ketones are not efficient for ATP production within the muscle tissues. Numerous studies show most always there is muscle loss on ketogenic diets. That is something one definitely doesn't want to occur as he/she grows older. Muscle energy requires a huge accumulation of ATP, and ketone bodies simply aren't nearly efficient enough to fuel active muscle tissue adequately. Also, studies by various respected universities show adverse events and affects, including hypertension and cardiac fibrosis on extended ketogenic diets. I used to have various scan devices and metabolic reading equipment at a training facility I owned just south of Nashville (the same equipment utilized by Vanderbilt). We noticed a dramatic loss in muscle tissue and RMR over time in adults on ketogenic diets vs those who maintained a well balanced diet including quality carbs, fat and protein.. We had to reverse diet many of them and get them back on track to gain lean muscle tissue and to increase their resting metabolic rate. Lastly, fats and meat are missing a number if vital antioxidants, flavonoids, fiber, resistant starch that promotes the growth of beneficial bacteria in the colon and various micro/macro nutrients to ward off various diseases, viruses, cancers, etc... I myself am not a fan of a carnivore diet. I do love eating meat, I just prefer having it with a well balance portion of additional nutrients from veggies, something like a sweet potato (if I am having chicken or an extra lean cut of red meat), and essential fats from something like olive oil. I have lower carbs with higher fat cuts of meat like ribeye's or something. Lastly, I disagree about non-essential carbs. Yes, the body can take fat and protein to convert those into ketone bodies(via gluconeogenesis), yet that is most often at the expense of losing precious muscle tissue in the process. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, our GP, stated he has noticed a common theme with his carnivore diet patients, and that has been higher elevated levels of liver enzymes that he believes can lead to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. I do know when I tried a ketogenic diet for 12 weeks in 2004, my liver enzymes were massively increased based on bloodwork. I was told to immediately decrease my meat intake and to resort back to a typical diet and come back 8 weeks later. Upon my 8 week follow-up bloodwork, my liver enzymes were back to normal. All of that is to say, that with my personal experience and study on the matter, I am not an advocate of the Carnivore diet. I say all of this with kind words;-) Thanks so much! -Chad

I too am a a fan of meat, and I eat it daily. However, too much meat can be a bit hard on one’s organs, especially the kidneys. I know first hand. Again, I eat meat daily. Also, meat will not yield anywhere close to the same micronutrients by itself. Vegetables and fruits have a vast number of phytonutrients that definitely outweigh even the anti inflammatory properties of beef. Also, MUCH of today’s beef and poultry…and fish is either high in heavy toxic metals and or antibiotics…or other poisonous properties per many of the consumer reports findings and private university studies. Thats why Mandy and I do our best to do lots of research on the companies who produce the meat we eat. Mandy and I are all about balance. When I tried the carnivore diet 3-4 years ago, I felt worse, my bloodwork came back worse and I was way more constipated(and there was no way I could, or would want to, eat that way permanently. Some may like it and may want to do it full time, yet from my vast research and personal trials, I would always go and lean towards a balanced diet. Lastly, I understand some can’t tolerate vegetables very well, that’s why we’re are so pumped about this shake. It has dramatically decreased bloat, increased healthy bowel movements and most definitely has cleared up the redness in skin, which is always a great benefit😉 Oh yeah…the weight loss aspect has also been a HUGE plus. Thanks so much! -Chad

Yeah, I have listened to a number of Dr. Berry’s videos. I also disagree with a few things he says based on my studies. A carnivore diet will most definitely miss out on various nutrients or be low in needed vitamins/minerals(vitamin C, vitamin K, magnesium,boron, vitamin E) antioxidants,ALA and elements such as anthocyanins, flavonoids, fiber, etc…. I also believe a vegetarian diet can also cause a low level of key nutrients(B12, Iron). I have read and seen numerous studies on both sides and from my studies and findings, a diet that incorporates a broad spectrum of foods(meats and plants) will be far superior. The biggest factor for me personally is “can I make this a life long lifestyle change?”. I have done full vegan for 4-6 weeks and full carnivore for 4-6 weeks. I took notes on both and in the end, I felt I couldn’t and wouldn’t want to do either full time, thus I fall into the omnivore category😉 In the end it all comes down to what works best for each of us, and that’s totally understandable.
