My friend passed away six months ago at 102. She drove until she was 97. She ate anything she wanted and anything she liked. She drank scotch straight up every night of her life. Half for cocktail hour and the other half before she went to bed and slept like a log. She lived alone until the last five days of her life when she went into hospice. She had the best laugh of anyone I’ve ever met. I guess that’s the other side of the story and I miss her every day.

Next month I'll be turning 92 and glad to see that Barbara is doing so well. Her eating suggestions pretty much blend with mine, but she is much more disciplined than I when it comes to writing. Little one room schoolhouse no doubt.. So she would have been around when Lincoln was assassinated.. Remarkable! Quoting Lehi to his sons from the Book of Mormon 2 Nephi 2: 15 “……it must needs be that there was an opposition; even the forbidden fruit in opposition to the tree of life; the one being sweet and the other bitter.” To fully understand such things as charm and beauty one must understand the fullness of it’s opposition. In other words it is important to see both the good and the bad side of deceit vs loyalty and beauty vs vanity. If you only experience sweet without the sour you do not know the full meaning of either.

Interesting, I'm a retired CNA and many of my clients lived over 100. My clients were,113, 112,107, a few were 105, 102, 101. I had quite a ton the 90's. The one who lived to 112 out lived all his children who were in their 70's and 80's. The downside some of them said was outliving your family friends. The were moderate in habits and ate a normal variety of foods. Funny, the one who was 102 did drink a cocktail every evening at 5 I would serve her. The 112 year old had a garden and ate the produce. Thanks for the video.

My neighbor here in Chicago is 94. He walks daily.. just around the block, drives , doesn’t use a cane - he doesn’t need one, has a full head of ( grey) hair. I’ve visited him on occasion. His house is immaculate! He says it takes him a few days to clean it as he takes breaks often. In his fridge he has regular food. He’s Italian, so I see pastas, sauces , chocolate donuts, coffee, but little meat. He doesn’t take vitamins or supplements. He said that he sleeps at the same time every night (8pm ) and wakes up the same time. He’s seems very calm and happy. God bless him.
