Step 1 sanding together with water - start with 200grit Then 300grit Then 400grit Then 500grit Then 800grit Then 1000grit Then 1200grit Then 1500grit Then 2000grit During sanding always make it wet with water Step 2 Dry it Wipe out with alcohol if available (not necessary) Wipe and remove all sanding powders Step3 Spray clear paint, clear coat smoothly with 2 or 3 layers First spray faster with 15cm far from headlight Second layer after 10 minutes Spray slowly smoothly After 10 minutes will be shiny like new. Tested alot Good luck

If you use a 1500-2500 grit and wet sand paper you can get the scratch’s out also.

It's not 5 minutes, at 2:38 you say to "Rub with a sponge for 10 minutes for best results." 5 minutes will be an incomplete job!

Наждачка 1000-1200 и прозрачный автомобильный лак. Пять минут и от новой не отличить,а как вы сделали ,фара снова потускнеет,без лака никак.Новая фара покрыта лаком,лак от времени и температуры трескается микротрещинами и забивается пылью и копотью,отсюда и помутнение пластика.

Simply cleaning your headlights well can make a big difference too. Maybe not like new if it's really bad but it can make a very noticeable difference in how bright your headlights are. Obviously it helps if you do this on a regular basis and don't let them get really bad. I did this on a 20 year old car on one side and did a before and after test at night with the head lights shining on a wall / whatever and the cleaned side was significantly brighter. Uncleaned side was much dimmer and yellowed. It's something we should get into the habit of like cleaning the inside windows too.

The hardcoat on the PC lens gets damaged after 3y to 5y (average). Polycarbonate (thermoplastic substrate) has a low chemical and scratch resistance. The abrasion process removed the remaining hardcoat and the damaged PC as well. It gets a better appearance for now, but unfortunately, the lack of resistance (chemical and abrasion) will keep accelerating the damage to PC due to chemicals on the car washing and UV radiation damage by sunlight exposure. The way to reduce the damaging process is to apply a protective coating (varnish).

Soap is not abrasive. Baking soda and lemon neutralize each other. You polish your headlights with soap and toothpaste. Lol.

Guys don't do this. This will cause scratches and your hard work will be lost in about 2 months of exposure to the elements. Stuff you need: *I use Mirka 125mm pads for my orbital Sander. *Grits K400 K1000 K2000 K3000 K4000 *Water spray bottle *2'k headlight clearcoat or any other relevant 2 component clearcoat with uv protection. *Isopropyl Alchol *Soapy Water *Soft brush Do this instead: I restored both headlights on my Peugeot 107 from 2010 and Fiat Grande Punto from 2011, using this method. 1. I start off by cleaning my headlight with a simple soft Brush and some car soap 2. When clean and theres no visible dirt. I will inspect the headlight for scracthes on the outside or minor damages this way i will determine which grits i will use to fix my headlight. If you have minor scracthes or damages that you can feel with your nail start with grit K400 (BECAREFULL WITH THIS GRITT. NEVER STAY STATIC WITH THIS GRITT OR IT WILL CAUSE FLATTENING). To work my way through the grits i will use a orbital sander. You can do this by hand using circular motions in the beginning, then using vertical motions and ending with horizontal motions by each gritt. I prefer the orbital sander, way more effective and faster but by hand will do. Use plenty of water during the sanding proces for the best result. 3. I start of with gritt 400 and spray the headlight and pad with some water. During the sanding i use vertical and horizontal lines to sand and make sure i never stop with the orbital sander. During this proces i will use plenty of water to keep things moist. If you don't have any visual scracthes or damages and just yellowing or fogging of the headlight, you can just skip K400 and go straight to K1000 4. I will do these exact same steps but i will follow gritt 400 up with K1000, K2000, K3000 and K4000. After gritt 3000 you can prettymuch see that its as clear as day. I just like to amp it up a notch so i end with Gritt K4000 so it looks brand new. But it's optional 5. After the sanding proces, i will Clean the headlight again with some soapy water. I will rinse it off with regular water and wipe it down. 6. After cleaning i will now degrease the headlight using Isopropyl alcohol with some kitchen paper wipes. Then you can let it dry or use a paint remover heatgun or hairdryer to speed it up. 7. Then i will use 2K's Headlight 2 component clearcoat spray to seal in our sanded/polished headlights so it stays beautiful and protected from UV rays (Sun damage). 8. I start of with a very light spray coat. wait 30 minutes inbetween coats. 9. We then repeat step 8 but with a much heavier coating and you will see that it starts to get a lot clearer. Wait 30 minutes again til next coat. 10. We repeat step 9 and check for the results. If the headlight look amazing after 3 coats you can stop. If the headlight still looks somewhat not shiny, then apply a 4th coating. Does it still look foggy? Apply 5th coating. If that didn't work, you clearly did something wrong since the 3th coating should already be sufficient in most cases. 11. After the sanding/polishing, Spraypainting and so on. Let it dry for atleast 12 hours before you start driving. This way the paint will be full hardenen and not be dented by little impacts from flies. You will be left with factory new headlights. Hope i helped

Absolutely ridiculous! They are still foggy and now it clearly shows hundreds of scratches! The "only way" to properly clean headlight covers is by sanding them from a 3 or 400grit up to a 2000grit, followed by a few coats of automotive clearcoat. Obviously, an even easier way is simply to keep your dam headlights clean from day one!

You shouldn't have done that with the abrasive side of the sponge. The other side would give better results.

Yust use fine sand paper with water and polish paste for the last touch and your light will be like new

You are missing one important step after you clean. WD40 rubbed on with a clean towel or paper towel. Trust me it will look 100% better because it will fill in those tiny scratches and look like New. The only caveat is that you will have to maintain it periodically to keep the lens looking almost new. Still, its a lot cheaper for just a can of wd40, glass cleaner, and some of your time then buying a new lens. Just plan on doing it after so many carwashes. Try it! cheap DIY.

LIKE EVERYONE ELSE - we CLEARLY see that you've simply REPLACED all the LIGHT YELLOW HAZE with PERMANENT CLEAR SCATCHES :-| I wonder how many people tried your method, SEEING the now-PERMANENT "FOG" SCRATCHES your method created :-( Me? About every 2 years I stop by the local car cleaning center and one guy pulls out his rotary waxer/buffer and does each lens for $10. When HE'S done CLEANING/WAXING/POLISHING my headlights THEY LOOK BRAND NEW. $20 WELL-SPENT every few years - I highly recommend this to others ! -Mark in North Aurora IL

Its like a cd you have to clean in strait lines, if you circle ⭕ you scratch the disc , so all is good what you done, but do it in all directions from the middle of the light in straight lines 😊 hope it helps 😊

Use aluminum rim turtle 🐢 polish. The white pasty kind. Clean first with Windex then on good rag or 1200 grit wet sandpaper and buff polish in. Polish for 3min so a head light,can use pad on drill but remember high rpm going heat polish up. Wipe clean then clean/polish with armor all wipe or spray on paper towel and kind buff as you clean. If there still really bad repeat,if there that bad CLEAR COAT AND POLISH THAT AFTER IT DRYS COMPLETELY LIKE INSTRUCTIONS SAY. IF there that bad it's just time buy new lens covers!!! Not whole light just cover. Break old one take it off.LITTLE SILICONE around edge where it seals and your good go!!! PS clean you window on inside to 😂 and every couple months wipe your nice shiney lights with a polish keep UV rays from dull looking lights again

This is the biggest load of crap.... The "is-coloration" wiped off within seconds of him swirling the sponge on it.... I call bullshit! I guarantee he had put something on his headlight to give it the yellow-tint, because it does NOT wipe off this fast! I've done this same exact thing and scrubbed & scrubbed & scrubbed and guess what.... I still have yellow tinted headlights!! The only way around it is buying new headlight covers!

Tbh it only removed dirt, you shouldn’t have used paradontax bc it has salt in it, which scratches the surface. Okay you cleaned it, but there is literally a cheap and easy way that doesn’t damage your headlights. But now you gotta polish your headlights to restore them and make them shiny
