@@vickyesperanza8267 Oats should be cooked for optimal digestion, and not used in their raw form. If you'd like to add some cooked oats to bulk up your smoothie, sure you can try that.

Woman you are gifted!! Your presentation is spot on. I wish today’s generation would embrace leafy green smoothies than all the junk processed food/snacks sold in shops. At the end of the day we all need to stay healthy and happy. I’d try out your ideas. I dread the taste of kale uncooked but will brace up for the challenge. Shalom!

I’m so happy you don’t use protein powders I only want real food. Eating fake stuff is what got most of us in this mess. To me it feels processed and I made a vow to only ear food that comes from a garden or a field, not a jar. Thank you

This is exactly the kind of green smoothie template I was looking for -- whole foods and simple ingredients -- thank you! I've been having smoothies for breakfast almost every morning for a month since I got my Vitamix and how I've been doing them isn't that far from what you do, but it's been a lot of work calculating the nutritional values of different combinations and figuring out if I have enough greens or not in relation to the fruit. This is definitely going to simplify the morning routine. One little suggestion I have for folks is a replacement for the ice cubes if they want a chilled smoothie -- frozen celery. I wash and chop a huge bag of celery, freeze it, and then add a small handful to my smoothies. I can taste the celery, but not as "Ooh, there's celery," but more, "Ooh, there's a lovely and fresh and light flavour behind the rich banana." My Vitamix completely breaks down the celery, just like it does other fibrous produce. I've also used green beans in the same way, but the flavour is a bit more pronounced.

The Gold Standard for Green Smoothie / Nutrition information. Wow! I am new to learning about nutrition/healthy eating and I have spent too many hours on KZfaq looking at folks make green smoothies. Look no further. This is the top KZfaq video you will find discussing healthy advantages of green smoothies and one of the top videos I have seen on KZfaq, ever, on any topic. The presentation is perfect. Detailed information on both “how”, and more importantly, “why” of green smoothies and all the nutritional backup. Split screen with video and audio of the presenter on right half and clear, legible, text on the other half. I think this person knows a thing or two about teaching. Added bonus: Clear audio, perfect diction of presenter (you won’t miss a single word); doesn’t have distracting, loud music playing in the background competing for your attention. My new vita-mix arrived yesterday and now I have my go-to resource for all my nutrition needs. I am now a new subscriber and look forward to seeing all of your other training videos. Well done - and Thanks so much for all the hard work you must have put into this.

This was the most knowledgeable and impactful juicing video I have watched. That's exactly what I was looking for. I just watched the video and made my first smoothie with spinach, chia seeds, pineapple, banana and water (to the instructions in the video) And it's absolutely incredible. The consistency and taste is better than the booster juice and the cost savings and health with this one speaks for itself🙏🏻 Thank you so much for this video!!

Quick health note: juicing to make juices and blending to make smoothies are two very different processes that make two very different products. Juicing does not make smoothies. Juices are extracts of water-rich fruits or vegetables that lack fiber, whereas smoothies are liquid foods that maintain the whole nutrient integrity of the whole fruit and vegetable, including their fiber. You will, therefore, get very different consistencies and flavors between juices and smoothies, as they are not the same things. (I am not sure what Booster Juice offers, but if I recall correctly they offer both juices and smoothies for people to choose from.) So whether at home or in a restaurant, be sure to notice whether you are interested in having a juice or having a smoothie, as they are very different and serve different functions. I have been following you for the last five years, and especially living in the tropics where there are variaties of fruits and vegetables. Where I live (Vanuatu), I have tried substituting kale with island cabbage, papaya, lime and banana. This changed my whole perspective to mixing fruits and vegetables in a smoothie. This also proofed to optomising my energy level, toned skin, and very nutrient. keeping it simple is a miracle experience... Thankyou very very much for sharing this wonderful receipes..

Excellent video, thank you for sharing your tips. A couple of things I'd like to add from my research & experience: 1) greens will oxidate when blending, and you will lose most of the minerals and vitamins this way; you can get a vacuum blender to prevent that. 2) you are absolutely right about water being the best liquid ingredient, but I don't necessarily think that smoothies with lots of solid ingredients taste worse. And for me, they actually simplify things: I put in most of the nutrients I need, make a huge smoothie, and drink it throughout the day. That and one solid meal is all I need during the day. Here again, having a vacuum blender helps to keep them fresh and prevent separation. 3) smoothies are great to ease your way into intermittent fasting, which is one of the best things you can do for your health.

Thank you for sharing this. It’s very well explained and has simplified the green smoothly for me. I always felt I needed to stock up on Greek yoghurt, soy or other specific milk, plus fruit and veggies and it all became confusing and just too darned hard. I feel now that you have supplied a simplified type of index card for me to follow. I am so needing to improve my health amd have tried using green smoothies in the past, but failed feeling the whole process too difficult. I think daily of my need to step up and this is a very good way to start. Again you have my gratitude. ❤️

You are super welcome, Heidi. The key to best health is definitely simplicity. These green smoothies that I demonstrate only add the things that are most essential and proven for best health and weight, such as fresh fruits and vegetables. Our digestive system also does not want or function at its best when we put in too many different ingredients at once. The key to any optimally healthy eating is not about adding "more stuff" and complicating meals with too many ingredients, but about *"eating more of the right stuff".* Best wishes :)

New Subscriber.. Love how packed with info this video was. Started my journey with green smoothies 3 weeks ago after a trip to Mexico to visit my father inlaw he started taking me on his very early morning runs to this smoothie stand in a "Ranchito" or "Ranch" this lady made the most awesome green smoothies using Nopal aka Cacti and Aloe vera Spinach and celery fresh pineapple flax seed i was so out my league I was hesitant to try but Wow what a flavor explosion. So now I'm back home in USA & making them at home.. I'm loving the results the clean feeling my insides have.. Lol Thank u to my father inlaw. ❤

Thank you for posting! It inspired me to Start making Smoothies again after a failed attempt. The ingredients I used for a Green Smoothie: 2 hand full of Spinach, 1 Bosch pear, 1 Bannana, 1 cup ice, half a squeezed lime, 2 tbs. Flex seeds, & 2 of packets stevia.

What a wonderfully clear, methodical and informative guide, and so well presented. I haven't come across a smoothie video that's so useful...and presented by such a lovely lady. I've just bought some natural yoghurt to put in my first smoothie. I've absolutely no idea why I did this! Seemed like a good idea at the time. Great video! I'd like to add a tip. When using a Nutribullet type blender and FROZEN fruit your smoothie will blend quicker and more easily if you put the fruit in first and your greens last. That way when you flip it you blend your greens and liquid first helping the blender blend the frozen. If the fruit goes in last once you flip the liquid and frozen fruit can become a stubborn mound that just sits and whirls. At least in my experience. Happy smoothing!

Good information. A few things that I love to include in my daily smoothies include celery, turmeric, ginger and lemon. These ingredients will almost always take away any “bitter” taste of leafy brassica greens like kale. Kale and/or spinach are my go to leafy green in any smoothie. In addition to our Omega juicer, I routinely use our Ninja processor which works best if you don’t stuff it too full, and add enough water and a few ice cubes. The ice cubes help break up any of the stringy veggies, and slightly chill your refreshing, healthy drink. Enjoy.
