The first review of this amplifier that I can actually appreciate. Great playing, my friend. I still think my next purchase is going to be a Rocker 30 head to go with my OR 15 and Rocker 32. This amp sounds killer, though, no doubt about it. 🤘🏿🤘🏿

I’ve been wanting an OR15 head for a while. How do you like it compared with the Rocker 32? I keep going back and forth between whether a single or two channel amp would be best. A single channel seems like it may be the best way to get the driven Orange tone I want without compromise. I use quite a few pedals typically so I imagine there will be some changes that I would need to make with the OR15. However getting all or much of my dirt from the amp would be fine with me and likely sound better than what I currently use pedals to achieve. I just wonder how it would handle things like a treble booster (Ananlogman Beano Boost), Big Muffs, and fuzzes like a Tone Bender MkII or Ge Fuzz Face.

The rockerverb MK3 combo neo is made in the UK, although I'm guessing since the big changes to that were the neodymium speakers and the lighter weight cab construction they're not necessarily counting that as a new amplifier.

Not really cheap for a single channel amp, but awesomely sounding! The Bright switch seems to add some more, really nice Plexi treble bite, if wished, and the clean(er) Orange sounds I anyway always preferred over any Fender or Vox, as they sound more earthy and organically and less kitschy. Marshall-killer, I would say. Definitely one of the best sounding new amps, I've heard for a long time.

The cost of being made in the UK, nearly all other single channel amps of this style are made overseas these days. It's similar in price/cheaper at least in australia than a lot of other amps made in england such as the Marshall 2203 reissue.

@@JimijaymesProductions I have no idea about Australian prices, as i'm living in Europe. In Europe the OR30 is about EUR 2000,- and the 2203 about 1800,-. Even a 1959 SLP HW only costs 1500,-. But concerning sonic flexibility and gain range the OR30 seems to be the best choice nevertheless for me.

@SonovaBish
@SonovaBish 6 ай бұрын
I have the amp. It's much quieter at 2W. You can crank the master volume and it gets really loud again. Aside from really pushing the power amp if you want to, it still sounds killer. It's easier to dial in a sweet spot for the bedroom in 2W mode. 30W mode can very quickly go from not enough to louder than your bedroom can probably contain. This amp makes me want to build another set of walls in my playing room to isolate it from the outside.

@@jaquesels581they're different. OR15 is relatively modern. The OR30 is more vintage, but with a lot of gain. This gets a great Sabbath tone without needing a treble booster. I did try it with a clone of the Rangemaster and it's so awesome. With the gain at 11, a treble booster or even a fuzz just pop and get huge sounds. It's amazing.
