Getting hearing aids for the first time, updating to new hearing aid technology, or adapting to new hearing aid settings is different for everyone, but it typically only takes 5 days or so to adapt to your new hearing aid technology. In this video from Houston and Lake Jackson audiologist, Jana Austin, Au.D. of Allison Audiology & Hearing Aid Center, P.C. describes what to expect the first week when you've been fit with new hearing aids. She recounts what to expect Days 1 & 2, Days 3 & 4, and Days 5 through 7. If you have recently been fit with new hearing aids, this is a great introduction to your new technology.

A very helpful and clearly presented video, thank you. It's better than anything I have found in the UK, which is where I live I have been struggling with my HAs for 18months., despite repeated visits to my audiologist. Now, I can't take a plane to visit you but the information you have given about how the brain needs to adjust to the difference in sounds and the restored nuances the HAs give is invaluable. Your voice is clear, your presentation is friendly and encouraging. Most of all, you provide sensible advice about how to help the brain assimilate al these changes. Thank you again.

Very helpful. I have had exam with certified audiologist. and am now doing a bit of research. In office wore and liked the PHONAK paradise P90-r. I think this is the hearing aid I will be purchasing.
