Fun Fact: Elvis was in Vegas, at an after-party at Liberace's house, when Liberace got to him and fawned all over Elvis's talent but told him he'd never hit the next level without a wardrobe change. Liberace took off his glittered coat and gave it to Elvis Presley, who soon showed up on stage with the bedazzled jumpsuits and the rocket was launched.

And still pleased my audiences. Look folks, just sing his stuff the best you can. Your listeners will still love you, And probably value you as an artist even more. yeah, Elvis was far from overhyped. It’s just that he has so much God given talent. The man was able to collaborate behind the scenes with so many people. so many legends. And he got his soul from the man above and that was just it. So much soul and rythym. A one in a trillion baritone. All eyes, went to Elvis on that stage. He was the same in person. He just had that IT factor. I think the legendary Memphis Baptist pastor W Herbert Brewster said it the best. He said that Elvis just knew that God used him to bring people together. He felt that his best chance to get to Heaven was to bring people to Christ and find a hobby... A vehicle. And for Elvis that vehicle was rock ‘n’ roll music. That was his reason for blending music genres. That’s why he did it to bring people together just like he did music. Elvis was driven to react to and defeat the negativity of the era that he lived in and felt around him -- the hatred people shown for each other -- he was trying through music to counter that force with a more lasting and powerful force. Love. So sad that he lived such a short life. Like you said he was generational talent. However, the work he did in his generation will affect every generation after his, and that’s what really made him a legend.

But, it was also the best, because my daddy got me every Elvis album that he could find for my birthday. I have so many favorite Elvis songs that I can't name just one. "Burning Love", "Are You Lonesome Tonight", "Separate Ways", and "Suspicious Minds" are some of my top favorites. Merry Christmas and a happy and Healthy 2023 to you and your family. Elvis loved giving.. and gave away just about everything he made… almost every dime. He bought a few grand things for himself… but most grand thing he bought to give to others. This is one of Elvis favorite songs and so fitting for him. He sings it so beautifully. An American Trilogy from this same concert live in Aloha 1973 is phenomenal. My goosebumps get goosebumps everytime even after all of these years..Just pretend live 1970 Las Vegas is another one. I am truly enjoying your reactions. Elvis was just that one....I feel truly lucky to have been a part of the world while he was in it. TCB 👑⚡️

My mum and I were listening to Elvis' music not long after my dad died and one of the songs on the CD was "My Way." She said she wanted the song played at Dad's funeral, because Dad did live life his way. Luckily the rest of the family agreed that it was an appropriate choice.

I remember riding in the car as a kid, and my dad would play the 8-track of "Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite." What a great album!

The first time I saw Elvis Presley was in Aloha from Hawaï in 1973 concert. I was 13 years old. I didnt understand English at that time. I saw this beautiful man and what a voice. I am from Switzerland.

I was lucky to see Elvis two times, early 1950s & in the 70 s just before he died, every song he did was perfect . Like BB King said " He had it all".

I like the way you don't talk all over the songs or keep stopping them all the time, thank you for that. My favourites are 'Suspicious Minds' , 'The Wonder Of You', 'Burning Love' and 'Can't Help Falling In Love'

That’s a master at work right there brother. Although the song was a cover of the hit first made popular by Frank Sinatra, Elvis always did a magnificent job performing this song each and every time he sang it. Great reaction. 🔥✌️

And this is the thing - certain songs like this, Bridge Over Troubled Water......songs of huge stature and success by huge artists in their giant status who had done them first and remain legendary, you watch and listen to Elvis doing them and even still, he brought something unique to them. And that is on top of legendary songs legendary artists i.e Sinatra 1 of the greatest voices there was ever. Totally impossible to quantify in words greatness, upon greatness!

Actually Sinatra covered this song himself. It's a French chanson called "Comme D'habitude". Written by Claude Francois and Jaques Revaux. Paul Anka just wrote the English lyrics.

@@alameas6358 Okay interesting, didn't know that bit. But lets face it everyone would regard My Way as synonymous with Sinatra's life and career and then 2ndly with Elvis after.

@@alameas6358 :: Each star did it his own way, but I like Elvis' version better. Frank's is more cool and laid-back; Elvis' style is more passionate and moving.
