Her journey is inspiring, she started from the ground up and created her own vtuber avatar by herself. Managed her own channel, auditioned to Hololive and was even turned down at least once but persisted until she succeeded. Almost felt like quitting at some point but with everyone's encouragement she kept going and now she's made it as the first Vtuber on The First Take. Super proud of her!

Funny enough, hololive did rejected her once when she audition in cuz suisei was an independent Vtuber, then she apply for alot of agencies but most of them went her to drop hoshimachi suisei and play a new charecter. She persist and negotiate with hololive for a second chance then she got into INNK under hololive later transfer to hololive main branch now in hololive Gen 0th

She has an album called Still Still Stellar that has all her songs from the start (when she was using a higher pitched voice) to 2021. She switched to her natural voice in 2020 in order to save her throat, and recovered from a vocal cord surgery in September last year. She has a new album (Spectre) coming out in 4 days, and a 2nd paid 3d live (Shout in Crisis) in 1 week!

Consider this: many charting singers these days are hired more for their looks, more of a factor in their marketability these days, while their skills in singing could well be a secondary consideration when there's a team of sound engineers with lots of knobs to turn. Hololive primarily hire their talents with the ultimate aim for them to be stage performers, as the founder Yagoo said, an idol group a bit like AKB48. When appearance, age, geographical location are no longer factors, those with real talents are given the chance to shine, and that explains why Hololive has some of the most astounding singers under their wings.

Yeah that’s true for there looks and there popularity/marketability like Internet celebrities Addison Rae or actors they pick them even if they aren’t great singers because there’s that more of a guarantee that they will hit the numbers that they are looking for there’s hype around the fact that oh this actor from this very popular Netflix series is coming out with a song or this massive TikTok star is releasing a song Compared to somebody who’s insanely talented who’s a nobody labels are more likely to sign somebody with that will more likely hit the numbers they looking for getting a Noname is a way bigger gamble than getting someone with that already established popularity

I'm suprised you started here considering you just started going down the hololive rabbit hole. There is a wealth of talent and music in hololive to discover. also they put on 3d live shows on KZfaq. Suisei is on a different stratosphere though. She always amazes me with the sure talent she carries. Some awsome singers aside from suisei are amane kanata, tokoyami towa, and tsunomaki watame to only name 3 of the best to start with considering there are around 70 and growing. Also you might want to check out holostars. They have some very talented guys over at holostars too.

ok. I will check it out. but still start out with those names and you won't be disappointed. In kanatas last 3d live she held a note for 22 seconds without losing any power!

She made her avatar herself and used it when became hololive vsinger. Her avatar multiple times were upgraded, bug saved its unique looks. I recommend to listen original MV. And please look at Watame's MV "My Story". Great voice and beautiful animation.

correct me if I'm wrong, iirc she said she doesn't or didn't have proper vocal training not even learning singing from any coach. she just sings karaoke regularly and has managed to get to this level of singing

@@siekensou77 she is self-taught, but im pretty sure they all get vocal aswell as dancing lessons in hololive in prep for the concerts.

Welcome to Hololive, I see you watch NijiEN, and as a Nijisanji enjoyer I see why you are surprised. Suisei is one of the best vocalists in the vtuber world period. For me, Hololive is the place to go for music, while Niiji is for the unhinged funnies. What I like is that while every company can do both, there's clearly a specialization. And don't get me wrong, while I love Elira's Karaoke, Ike's gutural screams, Millie's and Enna's both soft and powerful vocals, and how they produce such group banger songs, it's more difficult to me to relate to those songs at an emotional level, girls like Suisei, Towa, Risu, Irys, Calli, Ina, Azki, Watame, Kanata, Sana o7 have bringed me to tears just by the emotions they put into their songs and covers. Again, welcome to Hololive, and I hope you enjoy your stay.

Hi! I highly recommend watching her humble beginnings story! A fan translated her talking about her story of how much she struggled to get to where she is now. From being rejected by Hololive and almost giving up on VTubing as an independent, she really came so far. The video is over 2 years old now so it's a BIT outdated (2020), but it still shows how much she's persisted to become the star she is today. I'll never get tired of seeing people react to Suisei for the first time. She has insane vocal talent but she definately isn't the only one, most of the Holoive members have amazing vocal talent and, on top of that, most of them aren't even full time "professional" singers. They stream, play games, draw, goof around with eachother and still manage to release songs that blow a lot of "main stream" artists out of the water. If you like being able to hear emotion behind someone's singing check out Tokoyami Towa's cover of "Error" or her original song "Pallette".

Just an FYI about how they motion captured Suisei's 3D model with the Sony headphones on: she talked about it on a twitterspace broadcast. She was wearing the headphones on top of a Motion Capture hoodie.

i want to note: Kaf from VWP is really big/popular, comparable to suisei. if you know japan and music, you should know the dream stage for any musician/artist is the budoukan. Kaf got to the budoukan stage for her 3rd one man live. earlier last year, for the vtuber fest (part of the nicovideo choukaigi event) suisei and kaf performed a song together. there should be an eng sub clip where suisei recounts that. suisei also had kaf on her radio show last week where they talked a bit and exchanged contacts. there is an eng sub clip of that radio segment there, the 2 of them shared their utmost respect for each other's talents asano ruri is also good friends with suisei
