The introduction to Widex's latest hearing aid, the MOMENT SmartRIC RD, marks a significant departure from their traditional offerings, presenting a fresh approach in both design and functionality that has not been seen from the company in many years. After an 18-month hiatus since the release of their previous model, the Widex Moment Sheer, Widex introduces a completely new style of hearing aid, signaling a pivotal shift in their product line.

I’ve had the Widex Moment 110 for about 5 years and it’s still brilliant, I don’t think I’d ever change manufacturer.

So it's only a "facelift" with some small hardware-improvements... i find this trend to longer, bigger, more recognizable hearingaids a bit weird.I don't like the edgy shape of it. It doesn't look very ergonomic.

Widex is the Apple of hearing aids. Someone tries them, gets used to the sound, then comes time to upgrade, but nothing sounds the same. always keep coming back to Widex even if the technology was inferior, and there, they have you locked in the ecosystem. And why bother upgrading the technology if your customers are locked in your ecosystem? 😀

Very excited to try these and experience the 0 delay. AS a blind hearing aid user or rather, as a blind person who has yet to buy hearing aids, I feel we have drifted so far away from real sounds. It's all AI this and noise canceling that, but we forget the fact that most hearing aids make everyone sound like robots. For someone who can't see and relies on their hearing for nearly all the perception of the world around them, that delay is horrible and takes away my perception of echos. I've never tried a Widex but I feel they at least are going in the right direction. less is more, let the brain do what it is supposed to do and not some cut down processor trying to run AI. I think with the 0 delay, the ability to comprehend speech in background noise should become a lot easier as well without all the signal processing :)

As an audiologist I selected Widex Moments when I experienced a sudden hearing loss myself last year (unilateral). Zen Relax program was a must to manage my tinnitus. Also their Mediterranean turquoise was my favorite color of all the manufacturers. Trying out a pair of the SmartRICs this weekend. Already noticed reduced noise from my hair brushing across the mics.

Hi Matthew, I'm a Widex Sheer 440 RIC user. I chose this because I'm a vocal and instrumental musician, and I have somatic tinnitus. Had the units since early November '23 and I'm really happy with them. I'd like to be able to use Auracast...

The model is NOT Moment Smart RIC....it's one or the other, Smart OR Moment, not both in one model. Do your research.

Hi Matthew. I have the Widex Moment RIC from over 2 years ago. I think I qualify for a new set... I am happy with the sound of my Moments but not the Bluetooth. Did the Bluetooth get any better at all on these? Is there any way to use it on more than just my iPhone? I do love the new charger but not sure that is enough reason to upgrade. Thanks again.

Just got these in the 330 model. So far so good. Pros: I like the size and design. They play well with glasses. Sound is very natural. Handy portable charger. Good tinnitus features. Con: Don't like that the Bluetooth won't connect to PC without dongle.

My first pair of hearing aids were Siemens, still using Signia. my audiologist in the last year has tried me on Phonak Paradise, then Resound LiNX Quattro, then Signia Pure Charge 5AX after a funding application since Hearing Australia has switched to resound as there publicly funded option. I’ve found the 5Ax to be more natural than the other alternatives, but it was a bit to get used to after using Signia BTE hearing aids for so long. can’t get away from Signia

I’m wearing KS.10.RT (Phonak P90 RT) the best I have ever had after Oticon for several years.

I am an avid audiophile and was interested in the 440 when I heard about the SmartRIC. One question I have about the SmartRICs and have been frustrated trying to get an answer to is aside from the new form factor, better charger, and improved microphone directionality, are all of its other features equivalent to the Moment Sheer 440? Widex’s website is silent about its other features.

Been trying the new Oticon Intent for the past month. I have been a Widex user since 2015, most recently the Evoke. I have to say I like the Oticon, but I am not sure I love them. Their new technology is extensive, and I am starting to think that sometimes less is more. I don't feel I understand conversations as well in large venues such as a hall with a live band. The other thing I don't like about them is the technology that changes your hearing pattern every time you move your head one way or the other. I have a water fountain in my backyard and facing the fountain I am fine but when I turn away, it's like someone just shut the faucet off. The hearing aids then focus on a new sound in the direction I am looking. I find the quick change in outdoor sounds to be somewhat annoying. I have a couple days to decide if I am going back to Widex and the SmartRIC. I worry that the SmartRIC may not be as good as my current Oticon Intent, however. I am hoping my audiologist will let me try them and then make a decision between the the two.

OK found out that you turn the smartric off by putting them in the case and pressing the hidden button on the bottom until they shut off. I have my SmartRic but not really impressed. Too much feedback, too loud, doesn't deal well with wind noise and traffic noise. They didn't seem to improve my guitar sounds either. I know a lot of this could be setup but I'll probably return them and wait for the Philips 9050's instead.
