I currently have a pair of Starkey Evolv AI and a pair of Phonak Lumitys. Both are top tier technology from the VA. I don't wear the Phonaks at all unless I'm going to hear someone speak and I can have them wear the Roger On remote microphone. They both lack in noisy environments.

I’m wearing Signia HA that are 4 1/2 years old. Loved them until Signia changed their app. They eliminated the Cafe setting, one that was most valuable to me on a daily basis than any other. I have dinner in an extremely crowded, noisy dining room every night in Senior Living. My audiologist carefully programmed each selection I could choose on the app. It seemed a miracle that I heard each person at a table for four so clearly while also unaware of clatter of both clearing of the next table or din of noise from so many voices. Socializing during the meal is an important part of each day and shouldn’t feel exhausting after struggling to hear while also having to guess what was said or questions directed at me. Signia changed their app, eliminating the most important setting I had on the app on my iPhone. Their “noisy” in no way replaced their “Cafe” setting. Otherwise I found “live music, recorded music and particularly musician” worked so well for my life.

I recently purchased a pair of Phonak Naida Lumity L90 UP BTE hearing aids due to my hearing loss is in the severe to profound category. So far I really like them. I also purchased the Roger-On personal listening device. I really like this little device! I love the fact it streams my TV programs straight into my hearing aids and I have used it some in a public venue to aid in being able to capture someone speaking at a distance. I am getting approx. 9-11 days of battery life with the 675 button cell batteries. This includes quite a bit of TV streaming as well as watching KZfaq videos. I’m truly hoping they will continue to serve my needs for many years. Thank you for your informative videos too! 👍

@@HearingTracker currently, a Oneplus 8 Pro. The current Phonak app lists the aids it is compatible with but mine do not appear. Tried it anyway, but it didn't work and then the phone locked-up. The old HTC 10 ran the older Phonak app that was compatible. But it got so slow and was incompatible with later apps in general. So now I have to carry two phones, one as a glorified remote control and the other as a phone.

My last Hearing Aids were Siemens Ultrapower and now my Audiologist had Oticon Exceeds behind the ears because they have the most Amplification possible now and are supposed to be better to hear Speech with background sounds around me.I only get one kind of Hearing Aids but he showed me with his fingers that my recievers would be a lot bigger than his Sample because I have so much Amplification. Newer Hearing Aids have more Power and Amplification possible than other Hearing Aids I had and other ones I had did not have Bluetooth to connect my phone and tv and iPad pro to my Hearing Aids so I can hear it better with just the sounds i need to hear sent to my Hearing Aids and I can Amplify it more that way.

I'm a new user of hearing aids.. I have moderate hearing loss, and had Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss five months ago, so in one ear I have a reverse slope AND a "normal" "ski slope" loss of both high and low frequencies; in the other ear I have typical hearing loss of high frequencies that primarily comes with age. I am wearing Widex Moment because I'm a classical musician, and this has a much more natural sound than the Phonak Audéo that I tried for a couple of months. I also needed a hearing aid that would allow me to balance the volume of my own singing voice with the singing voices around me. It was a huge investment, but essential to my profession. However, neither was very helpful for hearing conversation in a noisy environment. I hope I made the right decision for the long term.

I listen to classical music and over the years have had the top CIC models from Starkey and now Phonak. Sadly I feel the calibre of sound is not up to the standards I would hope for and I generally take them out when playing my piano or listening to music in my car. My phonak titanium is especially irritating because it keep automatically changing programs so now the car noise is louder than the music for example, even when I put them in 'music mode". I thought of getting the Lyric but have heard they lack in bass and then I'm stuck with that deficiency. Do you recommend any brand specifically for music?

New to the realm. Tried a couple of the Costco RICs and do not like what I perceive is a loss of directionality with the microphones behind the ear. I tried a couple of OTC in the ear and liked the operation but not the lack of a custom fit and lower level of technology. So today, I am going in to get fit for the Costco Philips Custom ITE (probably half shell). My concern is the dated technology (based on the Hearlink 9030s). Is anyone aware of release dates for any of the newer Costco Custom ITE hearing aids? Any help (or feedback for the above) would be greatly appreciated.

I currently use Rexton RX . I chose the rechargeable which is slightly larger and is sometimes uncomfortable behind one of my ears. I use closed domes and I find them near trouble free and don’t get wax into the wax guards. One thing I find important is how invisible the wire is and my previous aids wires would cut across and not follow my ear shape. The RX do a great job of that. Wind noise while driving a convertible car is a problem. I also would like to be able to adjust them from my Apple Watch . I would chose a slimmer style for comfort. I also have one program that mutes the aids which I love when using power tools or on an airplane as the streaming still works when muted . I was quite happy with a 312 battery aid as it was just once a week event.

@steverliu1886
@steverliu1886 7 күн бұрын
A) is not a realistic expectation, you should always be in the same room, looking at each other faces, and having each others attention for ideal communication If you want to talk to each other from different rooms it would work better with a phone call /walkie or talkie / text etc B) depending on your hearing loss perhaps custom molds would help for greater occlusion or if not, using your finger to plug one ear is a technique I see a lot of singers do. Or custom in-ear monitors.

I think most domes are not made out of rubber, rather 99% Medical grade silicone and 1% other materials or 100% medical grade silicone depending on the manufacturer. A few years ago I had a patient who really wanted to know so I called the manufacturers to ask. I don’t think it has changed since but I could be mistaken. I understand you may have been using the word “rubber” in a general way and may not have meant it in a strictly scientific way so I don’t fault you for it! Just wanted to clarify.

Cochlear implants are becoming more available. I would like information about CI compatibility with hearing instruments for those of us who do well bimodally. Each CI manufacturer has chosen a HA brand to work with and develop compatibility with. However, many CI recipients find that the compatible HA does not work as well for them as another brand does. Many audiologists have very little experience working with bimodal patients. Many CI recipients do not live in areas where an audiologist with CI experience practices. I hope that somehow, some day compatibility will expand to include different hearing aid brands, and that more audiologists will recognize the value of bimodality and get training on how to work with bimodal patients.

After having watched this, I am so totally confused and suspicious that these hearing aid companies like it that way so they can charge the max amount of money. Your video actually put me off taking the next step with my audiologist for hearing aids.

Strange. I'd love to know how it can be broken down to make more sense for future vids? Matthew

I am affected by hyperacusis. The very loud sound of a champagne cork popping at the exact point you were naming the various aids, not only hurt my ears, but also obscured the word you were saying, so I've stopped the video to save my mind.

OMG! I thought I was the only one. Definitely was a pain. Tried adjusting the volume but it didn’t help much. My eyes shut tight almost every time from that frustrating pop!

@@iona1984 Ironic, isn't it, that loud noises be intolerable, when one is hard of hearing. I find it the same, so have the aids limiter set to help minimise loud noises.

I don’t even notice the pops until I read your comment, it didn’t bother me at all but I don’t have hyperacusis.

I wear Jabra Enhance Pro 20 hearing aids. Very pleased with sound quality & improved hearing in noise program. Been wearing hearing aids since 2008.
