I have an idea. What if you'd remake (without deleating the original vids so that we coupd see how you've developped and bring back old memories) your first 2 videos with your Andrew and Colin but now in a more precise way: sounds (maybe with a microphoned stethospope), telling us what you've noticed, better angles, but still sticking a bit to the original vid etc. You know what I mean. It would be a nice way to celebrate your 8. birthday in 2018. 2. 15.🎂 ;)

Hey Weaver. thanks for the suggestion! We'd love to put together something to celebrate 8 years, we'll have a think about what that might be! It's tough to find time alongside producing new content and working as doctors! Hope the studies are going well.

Can someone explain why he was listening to the Tricuspid region when listening for the Aortic Regurgitation murmur?
@aurelcato7465
@aurelcato7465 6 жыл бұрын
erb's point is for the tricuspid area and the murmur of Aortic regurgitation/insufficiency. I think of it as the valve and the sound of the murmur coming down.

The blood that is meant to move from the left ventricle to the aorta goes back (in a reverse direction). Hence, the sound is heard along the sternal border, and that is why he auscultated around that area. If it were to be aortic stenosis,the sound would be heard at the aortic area.

What is the difference between mitral stenosis and regurgitation?
@RevMed917
@RevMed917 5 жыл бұрын
Stenosis is midiastolic with an opening snap, regurgitation is holosystolic and blowing.
@Amandaaa2244
@Amandaaa2244 4 жыл бұрын
Stenosis is the narrowing of the valve, regurgitation is the leakage (it doesn't close all the way so blood flows back into the atrium when it's trying to get to the ventricle)

I don't know if my stethoscope sucks or I do, because I can never hear heart sounds with clarity, any tips docs?
@TheSydguy30
@TheSydguy30 9 ай бұрын
Positioning (create locations) and make sure you have your stethoscope in your ears the correct way (so many people have it incorrect), the correct way is they should be facing forwards, otherwise will have a gap and won't hear the sounds as clearly (if at all). If you've done these and the problem persists try and upgrade your stethoscope, I'd highly recommend MDF (I've personally got their ProCardial ER and it is fantastic) plus lifetime warranty on everything. I bought mine after speaking to some colleagues and them saying it was better than the Littmann they replaced.

Is mitral regurgitation become louder in inspiration right?
@MK-zg5ib
@MK-zg5ib Жыл бұрын
No it will be louder in expiration, left sided murmurs tend to be loudest on expiration and right sided murmurs in inspiration. You can remember this with the pneumonic RILE. Hope this helps :)
