While being a mechanic does provide one with good skills to have, they don't make good money. Truck driving can be good -- but he will probably get bored with it in a few years. He literally said he got bored of doing the same thing all the time.

It's also a great entrepreneurial field consisting of business ownership and possibilities of lucrative contracts (commercial and governmental). However, IMO, the greater question in this relationship is each of their desired lifestyles and SOCIOeconomic ambitions (emphasis on social class). They really need to examine the current and possible future conflicts.

That's because, so-called educated women have no respect for trade work anymore, they look down on it. Not knowing that it is the trade work that sustains the infrastructure that has afforded them the privilege of education. It’s not only about economical part. Education plays a huge role. It affects how people think, talk and behave. I know I couldn’t be with a person who hasn’t read any books or put an effort to obtain education. Also he knows that too and wants to lock her down with pregnancy.

@Sarahlee358 I wouldn't consider myself an educated person. I have no degrees. But I have a world of knowledge. I can carry a conversation with anyone. My thinking is sound. And I am well behaved. And I make pretty good money. And that's what I seen with this young man. But my point really isn't about education. It's about being an adult. Not letting your family pick or have any influence on who you spend the rest of your life with. That's a decision only she can make. Discernment comes with knowledge. Not so much with education.

He has goals and has moved from a mechanic to CDL truck driver. They have to go to school and continue to take classes a CDL IS NOT EASY TO GET. HE IS GOING HIGHER. THEY JUST DONT NEED TO BE TOGETHER. THE PLANTIF'S BROTHRR CONFIRMED WHAT THE DEFENDANT SAID. HOW THEY PUT HIM DOWN. JUDGE TRIED TO SMOOTH IT OVER. THIS YOUNG LADY WILL GET BACK HOW SHE TREATS PEOPLE. I was a little older with her and had a guy that supported me and took great care of me and my children. I got beside myself and thought that I could do better. I felt like he didn’t have enough.” ambition.” or his own goals and dreams here I am 20 years later and although I don’t want to be with him and it’s not possible to be with him I still regret that I made that decision that I made. I understand why I made it at the time and I thought at the time but now looking back, that’s such a silly reason to leave a person alone. She has decided she’s too good for him. I would rather have a truck driver that loves me to the end of the earth and admires me then a Doctor Who doesn’t do the same. Of course, life is about choices and she can do whatever she wants but I think a big part of her influence of her family and her idea of what proper goals are will separate them.

I'm highly educated. Truck drivers can make 6 figures. He can become a truck owner and make multiple 6 figures. If he has more than one truck with driver on the road hec can make millions. I had to learn this as a highly educated individual, who came out of college making 6 figures but a friend spent the same 4 years building a million dollar trucking business.

I don’t know what it’s like in US (I’m Australian), but truck drivers make excellent money in Australia, especially the long haul ones. In saying that, I can’t stand people with elitist mentality. The chick is going to regret this down the road when she realises that chasing for more and more will soon become exhausting if she doesn’t define what is “enough”. Not only that, but happiness is worth more than blind ambition. She’ll end up with someone who is ambitious as she is, but she’ll also end up crying when that same person doesn’t spend any time with her because he’s too busy chasing. She’ll soon wish she was with a guy whose needs are more simplified.

I am in my late 40s. I married a man who was "less educated " but brilliant with his hands and formal education was not his thing. He read books consistently and had a Malcolm X energy. Long story short my family thought the same way. I didn't listen and glad because I would've missed out on a beautiful marriage and a having awesome children. I have a friend with this same mentality with the degrees but no husband, children but has the degrees. Now at 49 she wants marriage. Nothing is wrong with that path just accept the choices you make without regret.

Watching this, you can definitely tell she feels a sense of superiority over him just because of her educational level. However he has more going for himself at this moment than she is! Also, for him, he should follow his dreams. They are not married, and he is free to explore all he wants. The problem is that they both want to change the other. They should both go after their careers and see explore. Then come back together in a few years. If they are still interested. But I love that her family is looking out for her.

As a cdl driver myself, I was offended by this case… sis if u want a white collar guy just say that…. As for the young brother 🧑🏾 go get that cdl and that 💴, ur young and got the whole world in ur hands… plus, when u on the road, you’ll find a lady who will rock out and even ride in your truck 🛻 cross country…. And this woman wants to be a doctor so why should she tie herself to a truck driver when she can date someone on a similar path as her. They hate seeing black women want more out of life.

This relationship won’t work right now. Both of them still have maturing to do in their career paths. She thinks she wants a white collar guy and that’s not always a better choice. He will be insecure and jealous of her being around other men that are college educated because he knows that’s what she ultimately wants (although her mindset might change in a few years after reality hits).

They are young. She doesn't really understand what a gift it is to have a mechanic as a husband, or to have a man that is so sweet and loving on you or a man that's willing to change his dreams to keep you. He will go far in life and will meet someone that is his true match. She will move on and find a guy that has a diploma .... but he won't treat her like this man. He is better off. She seriously needs to fix her make-up.... yikes!
