I know right. This song is so catchy and fun. It seems as though people don't want happy songs anymore because when ME! by Taylor Swift and Brendon Urie came out, people were hating on it because it was too "childish" and "cringey" (I mean it kind of was but that's okay). It was literally one og the only songs released his year that sounded happy and was a bubblegum pop song and people were hating on it. This song should be super popular. It's got catchy lyrics and good production. Kim has a nice voice as well

Trans pop star I’m here for this one. What I love about Kim Petras is her confidence. She’s not afraid to talk about her journey but it don’t define her career. She’s breaking so many barriers for transpeople. This should be the start of very successful pop career. Don’t sleep on her because she’s the next big thing. It might’ve taken her nine years but she’s on her way up now.

This is legit one of my most played songs on my phone. I heard it during a show on vacation in Costa Rica a few years ago and didn’t know who it was. I looked it up and it became my most played song in 2019. I celebrate her. I hope she has a long career.

It's actually really surprising to me that she isn't bigger than she is. Not that 2.5 and 3.5 million views on 2018 songs are anything to turn your nose up at, but shocked she doesn't have more. Most people would instantly recognize the "I don't want it at all" chorus, but probably wouldn't link it back to Kim Petras. Checks off all the boxes for a pop star, including a legitimately great voice (check out any live performance). Doesn't let being transgender define her or her image, but also seems to embrace it as well, which you would think would get her more visibility. Amazing story, and I expect her to really take off further into the mainstream very soon.

The people that actually like her are a bit dispersed, I think. I would like to see her get bigger, she sounds great. Maybe reprise some of her earlier songs without too much synth... @Angel Drouet Not necessarily. As a Trans-guy, I think the added layer, of knowing she is a Trans-woman is encouraging that Trans people are becoming a lot more visible. And not only that, but seen as desirable, sweet, talented, etc. Knowing she is transgender, shouldn't change anything, and pointing it out shouldn't be seen as negative or positive in itself. Context is important.

There was this guy called Max, he loved this song, it was not his type of music but he loved it because we used to ride in my car and I wouldn't stop listening to it at that time. No one could know he liked this song and that we were close but even without speaking English I heard him singing along to it while he was on my right side seat while we drove happy through our shitty city. He even had a WhatsApp audio message saved in his phone of me singing along to the song that I learned he would constantly play while we were not together. I gave my heart to break to this guy, he never broke it and if we had had more time and maturity to just leave the place where we were, I'm sure he would do and be the exact opposite of what this song says, 'cause I guess that's the meaning of these lyrics to me, find someone who would do exactly the opposite. Unfortunately he got killed with only 27 years old and every time I listen to this song (and any other times too) I still feel kinda left in that time. Weird that I'll NEVER be able to speak to you again Max but I will always be your friend, the brother you never had and your future lover if we meet again in a better place one day. I never thought that there would be another place to be after we leave this earth but you made me want to believe that there is and we can meet again and listen to this song together. Miss you!

Kim here is at her peak. Her singing is outstanding, her dancing and performance is outstanding, and she looks slim and beautiful. Her later performances in 2022 suggest that she is leading a softer life and has put on some weight. Her performances, though, in 2022 remain top drawer.

@@billakers5024 I've been producing music for years and this auto-tune idiocy has to stop. There is some vocal processing in this song, as usual, but no auto-tune. Listen to someone like T.I if you want someone who also always uses auto-tune and you will hear the robotic nature of the sounds. While some people use auto-tune very minimally, it just fills in the voice as an extra layer. There is no pitch correction on this song and pitch is only one aspect to singing. Mind you, I find this type of music mindless untalented repetitive garbage and there are literally millions of people who can sing as well and who can easily reproduce this song. Still, no auto-tune!

She touches on one of the problems in the world. People are so focused on trying to put a label to everything, they are missing that those labels do not define who someone is. Ms. Petras is transgender, but that is just one facet of who she is, and is not what defines who she is. Reading that quote, she wants to be known as a musical artist.
