I’m so excited for NaNoWriMo to begin, so I thought it would be helpful to show you the process I use for outlining my novel. This is the same process I use every time I start a new book, and I find it so helpful to get me in the right mindset for writing.
This is a longer video than normal, but I sincerely hope you are able to watch the whole thing and let me know if you found this useful and would like to see more videos like this.

I can't believe how long this ended up being, haha, but I hope you find it helpful to get an inside look at my outlining process, step-by-step. Let me know if you want to see a video update when it's completely filled out, or if you want to see more videos on crafting your plot, pacing, and how to write a multiple POV book. Thanks for watching!

This is so helpful and informative! I was curious what your top clifton strength was? I'm writing a multiple POV right now, and also learning about the clifton strengths and trying to use the information to improve my writing. I am wondering if some of my struggles is not having thought through the multiple POVs enough before I started putting "pen to paper"

I'd love to see the video on pacing and the completed outline when you get it done. I really feel I learn a lot from your videos. And I love that you are so open about your process and how it's not always easy, and you have doubt and even have a mega successful writing career. It assures me, when I'm having doubts and when I'm struggling with character development for 2 weeks (as an example... haha), that it's okay.

Sarra, I just love it that you're not afraid to share your stories with us piece by piece! I would like to see exactly what a scene is, and exactly what a reaction is. I'm a visual learner so if you could mark in one of your books the beginning of a scene and the end, with the GMC marked in it would be awesome. I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say! xo Marcia

Ooooh! Great idea! Thrift stores often have old planners and diaries. All that wasted stationery makes me sad, but _of course_ - you can just stick some washi over the dates and use it for whatever you want! Yay, cheap stationery!

You actually helped me adapt my editing process. It's not exactly the same, but I use a similar process. I outline a little differently, but what you said about outlining and then being open to change is very much how I do it. I know things are going to change and if something changes with the characters I don't want to dismiss it because it's not on the outline. I'd love to see more of your outlining process when you get a chance to go into it.
