the core identity of freeze mage is the use of Nova's doomsayer's iceblocks and blizzards to FREEZE and stall. what you do with the time you get is up to you. traditionaly you would burn the opponent to death but now you have alternative choices

Nope, most of the time you'll just feed them ressources. Overdrawing your opponent is rarely a good thing to do

Brady Smithson Medivh is key and Alex plays its own role, but Baron geddon is a cool choice as mentioned above since he heals you after you played the DK

Poisoned Raptor it's a mage deck that freezes easy as that.

freeze mage was a very specific deck when the game was new that stalled with freeze, doomsayer, and iceblock to eventualy kill the oponent with alextraza into burn, or simply using the extra time to use burn against decks with no healing. The deck also usually ran either antonidas or pyroblast as high cost burn. This deck is defiantly not the same as freeze mage in the historical sense.

I still am having trouble evaluating but your garden deck I mean the hero card is going to look great when you have a priest player that played that bad and give you free water Elementals at the same time the decklist looks pretty good but I'm always questioning do you need water Elementals or hero power magnification techniques to make more out of the hero power? Is there a way

Frost lich jaina goes into literally any deck. always win. go on twitch, pick a random streamer they will win 50/50, unless they play jaina, they win 100%

i mean it's kinda freze mage since it has frost lich jaina, who is kinda frozen. Although it's not by any means the normal "freze mage" with alexstraza plus fireballs, pyroblasts and frostbolts

To me, any mage list that is running 2xnova 2xdoomsayer is a freeze list. Freeze mage in Un'goro evolved into something with wyrms and Medivh and it was still called freeze because of the novas/dooms. The only missing part is the Pyroplast, but we could argue that pyroblast is burst freeze mage, and Frost Lich is fatigue freeze mage.

Max Wu It is POSSIBLE to be good with Jaina, ppl like you are too close minded. Just writing it off. Imagine you are facing Jade Druid and they fill the board with Jades and other high cost minions, your block is going to be popped. You play anomalous and even when your block is popped you get the full clear and the full heal.

that may be true, but anomalous is going to be a dead card whenever you don't need a massive heal.

The full heal wouldnt matter if ur dead lmao. you're spending an entire turn just plopping down a clunky 8 mana minion that doesn't even effect the board immedietly. maybe if it had taunt it would be somewhat viable in niche decks but for now its terrible

Well, that's why you have fireballs, frostbolts, firelands portals and primordial glyphs in the deck, it's not "pyro alone". Sometimes I don't even need alex to burst the other player down if he doesn't get a lot of armor/heal lol
