Useful fact for non-Diablo players: The cow hero and the secret level in this Tavern Brawl comes from an easter egg in Diablo 2 where there is a secret level called the Moo Moo Farm. When you enter the farm a huge herd of cows try to attack you and strangely enough even they carry loot.

Reduce the cost to (1)? well my coins didn't exactly get a mana reduction xd.

I just played reno-lock and got lucky beating the secret level on my first try. I had no idea that any of this stuff was there O.o.

Very simple but strategic taver brawl which I like. I used a warlock and used an only rare and normal cards deck (and a cthun but not cthun build) to win. Hope they make more like these cause they are fun.

So I played the tavern brawl using a priest deck, had Nefarian, got Doom, when we were both in fatigue and he was going to die next turn to fatigue I played Doom with a Sylvanas on the board (Note: he had one secret remaining which I couldn't figure out) the Doom kills everything and draws me enough fatigue damage to kill me when the secret that saves from lethal damage activates, Sylvanas steals the portal, the twisting nether activates turns me into the cow king, I end my turn and he dies to fatigue. Craziest thing that has happened to me in hearthstone ever.

However, it is Brawl. And I play Brawl once

I've also noticed that going into fatigue will also trigger the portal, it will always be his last card in the deck so if you wanted to get to it faster that way maybe a mill deck.

You can get a flare from Lock and Load, and presumably the locked minions from unstable portal. It doesn't trigger the second phase, though.

When Kripp Doomed the board and destroyed the portal I nearly broke a rib from laughing so hard.

A secret cow level in Hearthstone? That's brilliant.

Beast druid worked really well. The druid of the X cards give you more options to trigger the secrets. The only that are a bit of a pain is getting low on health and getting many cards. But it wasn't that big of a deal.

I like how years later, demonic presence became a Druid card.

I played this brawl only twice. Died the first time, came back with another deck. By some twist of fate, I managed to activate the cow kind level both times, and I wasn't aware why it activated. So I assumed it just happens every time during that fight.

I faced the cow king on my first try with a Reno mage. Didn't realize that it could be so difficult! Really cool design by Blizzard on this one.

I reached the Cow King second try, didn't know what it was. Went in and maxed out my Jade Golems to 30/30 (the Jade Golems can't actually go higher, I never knew that) as a Jade Druid, just lolling the whole time. I never killed him but he Bane of Doomed one of them and summoned a Wrathguard, which he then charged into my 30/30 much to my dismay the next turn (he only had 1 health left).

@Disguised Toast, An interaction I would love to see you do in this tavern brawl is Renounce Darkness + Lore Walker Cho and seeing how the AI interacts with these random cards. I'd love to try, but unfortunately, no Cho.

i played the tavern brawl last night before you made your video and managed to get to the portal appearing but not knowing what it did I just killed him that same turn, dam I wish I would have waited lol

I mean, if I could actually get a fucking legendary it might be easier to become the king

I watched my friend play the brawl earlier in the day and he won it first run (he did not kill the cow king). So i decide to try a control mage later. I ended up killing all the secrets (not knowing about the cow king) and made it to the secret level. However I didn't get my health back like you did. I ended up winning by getting a second ice block through a cabalist's tome and duplicating a Reno. Thought it was cool beating him with about 5 health left, not knowing what I was getting myself into.

Well, I got to the secret level with jade druid. Got him down to 12 cards in deck (he used gang up on a deathwing that came from my sneeds old shredder, played all 3 and that's how he had so few cards left) and 2 turns after I summoned 7 30/30 jade golems the game suddenly ended. So it would appear there is still a turn limit even in this brawl. Killed 39 bovine though.

I used Renolock on my first try of this Brawl just because I am most experienced with that deck and didn't know what I was getting into. It worked out perfectly.

Was playing jade druid. Almost got the cow king to fatigue before it hit 45 turns and the game was ended. Found some interesting stuff about jade interactions, though. Apparently, the highest amount of cards possible in your deck is 60. If you have 59 cards in deck and idol to get more, it will only shuffle one in. Additionally, the highest attack and health of a jade golem is 30/30. Strange

I want to imagine the day when not only Warcraft cards appear in Hearthstone.

Just finding this now, it took me legit 20 mins to beat it when it came out, i had a warlock deck that was super easy with rushing, and since the AI was kinda rusty, he always went face, and i got to trigger all except the revive secret, and then i did instant 30 dmg right on my first "turn" on the secret battle. Cheapest way, but after i did that I didn't do it anymore. I was lucky getting the revive one, battle cry, and I forgot the other one, but I was really lucky.

@DisguisedToast When I played Death's Bite, the boss' secret which says "Secret: When your opponent summons a minion Deathrattle, destroy it" destroyed my Death's Bite. Do you think this a bugged interaction, or is there some wacky explanation?

I've been doing a personal challenge to beat the cow king with all of the heroes. Not just the 9 classic but ragnaros and jaraxxus too. Didn't know about becoming the cow king though thanks! Also my highest bovine kills was with the Druid run with 40 and it was a jade golem, Reno, menagerie, C'thun, AND had all of the secret activators. The game ended once I reached the 100 turn limit because I was trying to fill the board with 30/30 jade golems lol.

I did not even know about this cow level. lol. I just played it with a lock and got to the cow level. I did not win, but I got to play it. Thanks for showing us.

A great reference from the old Starcraft cheat : there is no cow level.

I've only done the brawl once and I got to the cow level and managed to win, without knowing any of this. I played a Bloodmage Thalnos, which triggered 2 of the secrets (deathrattle and spell damage), then the less than 15 health each into a brawl. Had 10 health left, but managed to play 2 doppelgangster and evolve with coins to get a full board right away.

Got it first try! Luckily, the 15 hp secret triggers a Brawl which steals the portal for you so long as sylv doesn't win. I even became the cow king with Ice Block!

My favorite emote was the "moo" one, however "moo" was a close second. There was also "moo" which deserves recognition but isn't as good as "moo" or "moo"

I think I discovered a weird interaction: I used Velen's chosen (I don't even remember where I got the card, but ok....) on a minion, and triggered his spell damage secret, even if the secret says "when a your opponent SUMMONS a minion with Spell Damage"... so yeah, might wanna experiment with that yourself :P

so to get the card back you need to beat the wanderer or the cow king or it doesn't matter?

well the easier one to get the secret stage is Jade druid, no heal but armor ofc. Azure Drake, Morores, Thalnos, Zombie Chow, the 1-2/2 heal 4 are good choices to test the secrets. You have the draw to fish all of them even if you run only 1 copy each (don't shuffle Jade idols too much though) If you want to go infinite tech in anoy-o-tron (buff it up if you get the knuckles and the shaman mech weapon), some silences (for dread steed) he'll stop hitting you with the 2/2 infinite weapon once anoy-o-tron is played (he have to be low ofc). it automatically ends after you kill 40 bovines

Jeraxxus is great for the Cow King. Also, stealing a Bovine with Sylvanas helps to lengthen how long you live for (though it's not as good as Mal'ganis).

Salutations Mr Toast, I wanted to highlight a fun a situation. I played a Druid Jade deck to have an infinite amount of cards against his infinite number of cows. I came to a point were my board was filled with Jade golems and his with weapon racks/chest of gold/discarded armor. His hand was full and mine at 9. He couldn't play anything anymore and suddenly.... We both exploded. :D Sadly enough, 48 cows were harmed during this game. Happy fun time indeed!
