+Gage Martin No, he knows he would have lost at that point. Losing your board to Tirion, while the opponent has a full board and an Ashbringer is pretty much a loss (nothing comes back from that). The only winning play was getting lucky with Hex/Shock. It might not be intuitive, but he's playing to win, you'd play to not lose (immediately at least).

+jh er Actually I think that would have been a bit too strong honestly. That's the problem with Shaman, it's one of the worst abilities because it's so random, giving them the ability to choose which totem they get is still kinda bleh for the investment, but it would be too strong to give them 2 random totems. That's probably one of the things they really thought over for a long time and finally had to settle on just the "choosing whichever one" ability.

***** first off, thaurissan also hits spells and weapons, and he has a slightly bigger body. Most importantly though, thaurissan enables more cards to be played on one turn. That is not anywhere near increasing the size of your minions. Example*: Turn 6, your opponent plays vanilla 6 drop (ogre) you play thaurissan. -The opponent trades and floods the board > lightning storm(guaranteed kill on ogre) + 5 mana worth of reduced minons -if they play a big drop, you could hex it, still have to only deal 2 damage to the ogre instead of 3 which could matter, and then you have 5 mana open with reduced cost cards. If you had played mistcaller instead, the ogre is at 3 health instead and might be harder to kill and after your 3 mana spell you only have 4 mana left over = less of a board impact. *this is just showing how different the effects of thaurissan vs mistcaller can be, not saying that thaurissan is better

Watching the game from this point forward, trump lost because of said effigy triggering on a 4-mana minion, rather than creating a 1-mana dork. I'm not saying this is hard proof my thoughts here are correct, but it's at least one example of thinking around Mage secrets more thoroughly

Yeah I had the wrong play in mind. Just saw what you meant, but still don't think it's a stream snipe. By keeping the Shield and keeping one golem alive, he managed to do 4 more damage to the face, and the golem that was left could only trade with a 2/1. Having a 2/2 with shield, a 4/4 and a 2/1 on board against a 3/4 is usually better than just having a 2/2 and a 4/4 against an empty board. Also, this way the heal from the Chow was negated right away, which could also have been a consideration. Furthermore, if he was sniping, he probably wouldn't have played another Shieldbot and the Berserker the following turn, let alone have his board a 1, 2, 1 and 3 health the turn after that.
