Heartland 17X07 Amy and Nathan Scene; Ranch scene. Amy and Nathan talk about why he didn’t show in the morning as one of his horses gave birth. Then Amy gets a phonecall from Tim. Circumstances going back to before the events of Season 1. When she was 15, after Tim left, she made a phone call to him asking if she could live with him. He turned her down. He was also extremely wasted on drugs and alcohol and doesn't even remember that night. Even after Tim returned home in Season 1, she never really resolved that. She felt like he didn't want her. Growing up, instead of fully dealing with it she kept it bottled up. Nathan, the new character that's riding with Amy, found Lou in the woods when they were teenagers. She was crying because her parents split and Tim left. Nathan having experienced a similar break in his own family, comforted her. He came back to Hudson this season and the memories of Tim leaving, and the phone call, and the heartache that came with it, all came flooding back to her. Which has kept her awake at night. She couldn't bring herself to open up to Tim or even Amy about it. Literally has been fighting to ignore what she was feeling and keep it all boxed up, but in this episode she's officially reached her breaking point.
