i liked that imogen took the "blame" for the date didn't go well in front of their friends, and in such a light way. cause if she said nick didn't go to the date harry would be even harder with the pressure

I was so iffy about Imogen until the park scene. That’s when I decided I liked her. She handled it better than I thought and made sure Harry didn’t push Nick’s buttons.

I was already sad when she said her dog died, but the fact that they SHOWED US A PHOTO destroyed me 😭

By her answering I think I could do better I think that is her way of trying to defuse the situation, which she did

I liked Imogen more after Nick turned her down, because she comes across as so much more confident/less needy in the "I can do do better" scene. Obviously she's just saying that to stop Harry butting in, but I also think maybe Imogen felt like she had to date Nick to fit in and be popular, and what he said about burying your real personality made her decide to be more self assured and stop trying so hard.

I think Imogen is the perfect example of a girl who simply had a big crush, sometimes we say REALLY silly stuff when we think we're "in love". I say "in love" here only because at that age "a crush" can feel so much bigger. Imogen was probably always a pretty nice girl, but you know, no one is perfect. She said some really silly things when talking to Tara, but who has said and done things that we regret or learn from later? No one says everything right all the time or does everything right all the time. Tao is also the perfect example of this too! To be PERFECTLY honest, he does and says some things that made me really mad, BUT I can see that he IS simply trying to protect Charlie. Everyone has blind spots that color their judgments. I hope you read the graphic novels as well.

I love the fact that Charlie earns Nick's admiration by being better at maths, video games, and drums. Good confidence-boosters.

I love how he's really trying to assure him meanwhile that he's really sincere with his feelings for him and show Charlie's friends he's not an ass like Ben.

Again, I don't think Imogen gets enough credit. She may have prematurely stepped in front of a ship, but when Nick was upfront with his feelings and not vague she bowed out gracefully!

I pretty sure Imogen didn't actually say what day. My guess is she just assumed he knew it would be Saturday The birthday party, according to Tao, started at 4, so Nick probably thought he could do both
