Use a vinyl cutter and heat press for customization jobs and low volume orders (1-30). More than 30 shirts or graphics with more than 2 or 3 colors, go with screen printing. If you don't have a screen printer, get a local screen printer to do the job. If you price your shirts right, you can still make money and you don't have to do anything. NOTE: Screen printers require generally require Adobe Illustrator files for making film positives. If you buy your shirts wholesale, buy your shirts and deliver them to the screen printer. This is the best way to go unless you get a lot of larger orders (50-?). If that is the case, get you're own screen printing setup and learn to screen print or partner with a local screen printer. Getting setup in Screen printing is fairly expensive and the there is a steep learning curve.

I thought I had one that sold shirts at a good price, but when I was ready to check out I got a pop-up message saying it was not a secure site (even though I saw the lock at the top of my screen when I opened the website). keep in mind guys when screen printing on polyester shirts use Low Bleed or else you might get dye migration from the shirt..ex. Red shirts printed with White ink might turn pinkish.. takes days to show up, best bet if you starting out stick with 100% cotton shirts until you educate yourself on poly shirts, proper ink and drying times, I learned the hard way$$$

Good video, but you didn't mention that with vinyl tou can do metallics and sparkle that you can't do with ink, which can sell for a higher premium

actually its less expensive for heat transfer than it is with screen printing. Especially if you're using cotton soft printing which is basically screen printed transfers, you can fit multiple designs onto a single sheet and be printing at 3 times the rate as screen printing and the quality is comparable.

Although screen printing may be harder to get set up , I would much rather prefer a shirt with paint over a plastic over my shirt. Over the summer , the vinyl gets so hot and uncomfortable 😣

I actually love vinyl and a cutter for making shirts. I've had vinyl on shirts that have lasted for years looking and feeling good. Screen printing is great too but I went with vinyl and a heat press because it was cheaper to start. I've used custom screenprinted designs and found the quality just isnt good. Would love to get a screen print setup though.

I believe screen printing is best because it's ink the sinks into the shirt, while the vinyl is still there on top of the shirt so after many washes, the vinyl can start to peel off.

@@swtfairy01 I believe those designs that flake off are just iron on designs. Vinyl/heat transfers are slighlty different. It melts a clear layer over the image preventing any fading and cracks. Basically you get what you pay for scenario.

HTV won't fade but the durability will vary depending on the type of vinyl you use and if you've applied it correctly. Ex. Glitter vinyl will crack, peel, and endure less washes than standard vinyl. Hang drying helps w/ longevity too

You don't need a screen printing machine to do large orders with a heat press and you don't use heat vinyl on those orders.
