BBQ lighter works slightly better cuz u can keep your fingers out of the flame. It doesnt make sense unless you are using it in a tight cramp spot where the wires are vertical. Itll help in that scenario.
@dereknoto99696 жыл бұрын
So many people talking all technical for a piece of shrink tubing...a lighter works just as good as a heat gun but thusguy put the lighter to close..you let the top of the flame barely touch the tube and go back and forth quickly so that you don't heat up one spot to much...
@fantasyteamshorts61124 жыл бұрын
It actually heat up my tube...
@gulzeb4 жыл бұрын
The invisible outer edge of the flame is the hottest part because it has complete combustion, and because it has complete combustion , it doesn't leave as much soot.
@bijanmozafari3826 Жыл бұрын
@@gulzeb i feel like that's just wrong. I've only really seen soot on things when that tip specifically touches it like think about a candle
@ashnguyen2950 Жыл бұрын
@@bijanmozafari3826 Because olefin in a candle consumes 3-4x more oxygen compare to lighter gas so it cannot completely burn with the atmostphere oxygen level. Thus candle fire will always leave soot unless burning in pure oxygen.

Can this method be used on a Macbook Pro charger cable? I want to use it as a preventative because my cables start to fray quite often just where the magnetic pugs into the Mac. Its an old 2012 version still going strong. I basically want to beef up the material that will soon fray with this tubing.

Do you need to use the entire length of the tube? How much overlap do you need between the end of the wire and the end of the tube??
@chrisreynolds63913 жыл бұрын
Probably not but heat shrink is so cheap might as well.
@adamjamestattoos8 ай бұрын
Better to use excess length than not enough.

what size tubing is that? I'm looking to buy online and I want to make sure I'm not accidentally buying industrial power line cable size to reinforce my macbook power cord cable, haha
@dicoreheatshrinktube90227 жыл бұрын
Normally , the shrink ratio is 2:1 3:1 , you can choose the size according to your wire

Buy an assortment for electronics. Try not to use too big of a tube like it looks on this video.
