The Pimp of Soho House took her to Istanbul for the opening and Harry just happened to be in Istanbul with his father on business. Royals always used to party at private clubs. So there’s that. I think ppl can be alienated from their families for all sorts of reasons. That doesn’t mean they are the problem. It’s the 180 change that’s happened with Harry and the isolation from his family, coupled with her apparent ability to both hoodwink and gaslight him that’s concerning and very sad.

Actually, it’s harder to get into nursing school than it is to get into medical school in most places. Do your research. I’ve been a labor & delivery nurse for over 30 years. When I went into nursing, I went to help people. Today, at least in California, way too many people go to nursing school to make money (new grads with a hospital job aren’t making less than $70/hr in Northern Ca). I started making in $14/hr in the 80’s. With a couple of years experience, you can make over $100/hr in many hospital jobs (check out the Kaiser system/ night shift). I agree 100% that too many of the wrong people are in nursing today- but not because it’s easy! It’s not. I probably agree with your Mom on many things. I was so sad to see the “ick” TikTok. Lots of things are said in jest outside of the patient room- sometimes pretty awful. It should never get back to a patient or affect patient care. I’m glad these Emory Nurses were fired. Their actions do not reflect most of us, but sadly social media clout is worth more to some than professionalism and caring.

I have wanted to be a nurse my whole life. I like to say it’s in my nature to nurture. When I was in my mid twenties (10 years ago). I was relocating constantly(lived in Germany, moving to a new state mid semester) with my husband who was in the Army and working full time. I found it difficult to get the straight A’s I needed to even get looked at in the Nursing program. My anatomy and physiology teacher said that his class was basically used as a way to lower peoples ability to get into the nursing program because it was so hard. I ended up getting a B and my counselor said I needed an A to even get looked so I should take the class again. The only excepted something like 20 students per semester for nursing. It was so competitive it was crazy. It seemed like people who could pull off the straight A’s were fresh out of high school no job other then to study and were in it for the money. Of course you want your nurse to be knowledgeable, but the classes I had to take were more geared towards being a microbiologist. I know back in the day in order to be a nurse they had on the job type training. I think if they did it that way they could weed out the least compassionate people that are only there for the money.

I've been a PICU RN for 35 years, started out making $10 an hour on night shift. 😳 the nurses now just don't seem to spend that long at the bedside like you said and leave for way more money. I left patient care 7 years ago but not after spending almost 30 years at the bedside. I'm now 56, about to be 57 and can't wait to retire. ❤ to you my fellow nurse.

Just as I don't presume to know what it's like walking in your shoes, I wish others would stop negating someone else's truths.
