Very amazing tour! It's one of the best you've ever made. I really enjoyed it. The British Airways 747-400's are in avarage about 20 years old. Now becomming a rare and classic airliner. I've never been in a lift with RGB lighting. That lift has a really old OTIS logo i would love to have seen that original. I filmed some nice EcoDiscs at Stansted airport. They will be uploaded in the future

This brings back memories from my trip to heathrow. I got off the plane, and I remember walking many travelators until I got to the UK Border, waited in line to present my passport, which I was told after that I could have used the self service station, which I didn't think I could. Walked through nothing to declare, and came out of international arrivals in terminal 2. I went outside and found myself on some kind of elevated walkway between the car park and terminal. That's when my head started spinning. Took a lift down to the piccadilly line station only to find it closed for maintenance. Took me considerable time to figure out how to get on a piccadilly line temp bypass coach to get on my way to Westminster. I returned from Westminster the way I got there, bringing me back into heathrow, which then I needed to find a way to simply get to my hotel a couple of miles outside of the airport area, so I just took a black cab and he dropped me off in the nice quiet area, where my head finally stopped spinning. The next day I picked up the car and left the London bubble behind off to better areas. Heathrow is absolutely insane!

Thanks for uploading this. I volunteered at Heathrow T1 during the Olympics last year and ended up riding in a few of the lifts. I remember the walls of the Heathrow Express ones being covered with an advertisement for BP although this was removed sometime around the Olympic start date. On the training day I rode a bus from the central bus station out to the Compass Centre and then a "chartered" bus back to T1 with other members of the group.

Remember being in the lift at 16:05 with an airport security guard and at an attempt at making conversation, asking what the S.T.A.R Centre stood for? There was a notice in the lift stating that if you got trapped you should press the alarm to be connected there. I can't remember what it did stand for.

in a set of lifts in Hong Kong International Airport, there are two staff only floors and the floors aren't locked! I pressed the buttons and got to the floors, but didn't dare to gou out because i didn't want to risk missing my flight back home to London from visiting relatives! If you go there, the lifts are in a atrium and have floors 6= Restaurant 5= Don't Remember what they are 4= Staff Only 1=Staff Only

I went to Heathrow last Saturday. In T3, the lift at 11:37 was broken: Whenever one pushed the call button on the 1st floor & the lift was on the second floor, it would think it was already at the 1st floor & open its doors. I also went to the chapel. It took ages to walk there. 1st I went across a pelican crossing, then I went under a road flyover, then the path went down a ramp into a small abandoned underground car park that was closed when Terminal 1 went derelict & the T1A car park became the staff car park for Terminal 3. It then came out into a garden which was both next to the chapel & right across the road from Central Station, where I had come from. I also went on a brand new Irizar bus at terminal 4. It had epic styling, but it used the stupid Volvo hybrid system. It was really cool in electric mode, but after going slowly for 100 metres, it switched to petrol & had horrible bone-shaking vibrations.

I've seen the new renovated/rebuilt Terminal 2. For some reason they renamed it Terminal 2 | The Queen's Terminal since the original one was opened by the Queen in 1955. The new Terminal 2 opened on June 4 2014. The lifts & escalators there are Schindlers & some Kone/Ecodiscs near the underground area.

The underground railway is the piccadilly line

I can guarantee Heathrow has more transportation infrastructure than a fairly large city located right next to my home city that I cannot say the name of but I can tell you it's in Wisconsin.

I saw on Terminal 1's Wikipedia. Terminal 1 will close in October 2015 to allow the second stage of Terminal 2's expansion. It will not be possible to completely demolish Terminal 1 when it closes to passengers as its baggage system also serves Terminal 2.

1: Go to a Tube station ticket counter & buy an oyster card with some credit on it 2: Tap on at the gate line of your origin & then at your destination 3: when the card runs low on credit top it up at a ticket machine

Heathrow central bus station lifts were always a bit temperamental. I was there back in 2006 and one the lifts was stuck between floors, but even now the doors are stiff when closing.

Even the POD buttons are Dewhurst!!!!! Probably has something to do with the fact that Dewhurst buttons are made in the UK (to a very high standard I must say - which is why they are used so much). Also, because they are from the UK, it is cheaper than importing other buttons from other countries.

My mum went to T4 and she said it was so small. She said that she could see her hate from the security area.

IAD (Dulles Airport) has a similar transit train. they call it Aerotrain. you can ride it by flying into and out of IAD. nice that you ran on the moving walkway. exploring restricted lifts is fun. that spinny thing is a huge radar antenna. what is NCP? that hotel elevator has a different color for each floor :) they thought someone else drove you there. heathrow hilton should have moving walkway.

Out of interest is it possible to use the escalators to get between the T5 Heathrow Express platform and the airport terminal or is it the same as in T1 and T3 where signs instruct passengers to use the lifts? I'm guessing they have signs instructing passengers not to take luggage on the escalators?
