There is a dealer in Virginia , Yoder out door Stoves, who has a KZfaq channel that explains how to use the C- series Heat Master and everything about the stove. I live in Pa. but have called this dealer for help a number of times on my G 200 stove because he is so much better than anyone closer to me. I have gotten parts and advice from him, the man knows what he is doing I highly recommend him. Just my two cents. Hope you have good luck with your new unit and a great day!

It looks like once you get to know her, she will preform magnificently. I think you are doing the best thing for your machine by feeding it dry wood. All of the people who complain about using the machine to dry its own food like to clean up the mess left behind. One of my uncles did an experiment by mistake. The findings were self evident. No matter the type of wood the dryer the more heat, finer ash, and less creosote. The accidental experiment was he installed a boiler with no stockpile of dry wood. He now cuts three or four years ahead. His pieces are quite a bit larger than the stuff you will be burning on a regular basis. Hence the long drying time. He does claim that using dry wood is about twenty percent more efficient. You and yours have a great day.

We all know you can burn whatever you want in these but. Wet wood always creates problems in the long run. More matinace yada yada. The fact that this machine gets back to temp as fast as she does I assume has to deal with how dry the wood I have in there is. Burn wet wood is because of not being prepared or just laziness.

Congratulations on the smooth sailing so far. Glad to hear that pump was an easy fix and it is living up to or exceeding your expectations. Thank you for the update 😊 I'm excited to see how it works out as you ramp up to full operating capabilities.

Yeah I’m super glad the pump is working. Didn’t feel like spending another $700 right now just for a pump. Yeah so far so good. Definitely exceeding my thoughts on how this boiler would handle the loads on out on her.

You definitely made a great decision based on your heat load and your ability to quickly dry your wood when you want since you own a kiln. As far as heat recovery goes I can tell you why other than the obvious size difference. Your g series wasn’t running at the same efficiency it was when you bought it. As I had said before, the problem with the self cleaning gasifiers is the turbulators don’t “can’t” scrape the tubes clean to bare steel. No matter how many times you pull on the handle a day, it still leaves a crust inside the tubes. And that little bit of crust makes a big difference in heat transfer. You have to remember, by design a gasifier doesn’t heat the water through the firebox. The firebox is designed for incomplete combustion. Its sole purpose is to make the gas. So if the tubes are crusted you are loosing a lot of heat transfer. IM NOT SAYING YOU SHOULD HAVE TO TAKE THE LINKAGE APART REGULARLY AND DRILL YOUR TUBES OUT. That would be ridiculous. But the fact is, you loose a lot of heat transfer when those tubes are crusted. And the gasifiers with the lever and sliding turbulators are not easily kept clean. When I built mine the tubes are horizontal and have a 2ft access door at each end. I have 20 tubes. I can run a drill through them with a scraper head every few weeks. It takes about half an hr. But keeps them shiny steel. In between scraping I run a brush through every Sunday morning. It takes about 7 minutes. This is how the original units on the market were designed, but they went to the linkage for a consumer selling point. With this conventional boiler, it is setup with the primary heat transfer in the firebox, so the fire is more turbulent and hotter. With your load, and ability to dry you made the right decision. I’m not saying this in a bragging way, but it’s unfortunate they don’t sell smaller units like I built. Companies do manufacture units just like mine but they are big and very expensive. About 10 times the size of mine. which is a little larger than your new unit. And they are $80,000 +. They usually burn coal and are used in huge factories, hospitals etc. Again, this new unit should work great for you!

All those points you said make perfect sense. The g series was no way as efficient when I first got it. After the first year I could tell that it was about half as efficient. And there’s really no way to clean the turbulators unless you take roof off and then pull the turbulators. Not doing that bc that’s just ridiculous. So far I’m loving this stove.

I don't have a heatmaster but I think you're really going to like how easy the conventional is to maintain vs the gasser. As far as wood goes, a mix of small and big chunks seems to preform the best for me.id lean more towards the big stuff since you're going to have a constant load.You're smart, you'll figure out what you do and don't need to need to worry about as far as cleaning goes. You're well on your way to having the most quantifiable information based boiler channel on KZfaq. I really enjoy your videos and have learned a bit. Enjoy your day.

Great video Matt, I mentioned to you awhile back about the gentleman retiring and selling his tree service equipment. I went to his shop talk to him he priced some equipment to me. He was on the fence with just having an auction. Well auction is the route he chose. It’s June 1st. Matt my numbers I’m about to give you could be not accurate. He built a 90-100 ton wood splitter splits like 32 pieces of wood in one push. The hydraulic lines look like 2 inch or slightly bigger. There psi rating are way up there. The wedge is in a fab shop I guess done ready to be reinstalled. The cylinder ripped it off in a push. This machine is a beast huge diesel engine. I hope I get the chance to see it run. Your boiler rocks. Thanks for sharing the sensors. Will definitely check those out. Have a great weekend.

That splitter sounds like a monster. Are you going to buy it? It sounds like it should be a museum piece as it sounds super cool. If it works even better. The sensors are awesome. Works good right now. Keeps me updated. Right now boiler is doing her job perfectly.

@@Treestofirewood wanting to know if you could give a guy some pointers on building a kiln. I have a one trip 40 foot high cube being delivered next week. I got to haul some gravel in to set it on. What kind of equipment do you recommend?????? I did research on USDA certification. What a job that was. Thanks for responding back. Price on that splitter is way way out of my league. I hope I get the chance to see it pound some rounds.

I’m so sorry to not respond back. I have equipment that’s not a problem to move it. I’m in talks with Nyle kilns. They quoted me a price I about fell out of my chair. I reached back out to there rep and there now understanding the path I’m trying to go down. I’m waiting for a new response back. And they have so far have been great to work with. Wood mizzer is out there. Just like to see your vendor you’re possibly looking at. Are you piecing together from sylvania. ??I would like to compare apples to oranges LOL!!!! I want to be a USDA certified kiln. Thanks for responding back.
@Treestofirewood
@Treestofirewood 3 ай бұрын
@BW35bucket no matter what kiln you build or buy. You still have to get it certified. Doesn’t matter if you buy one all pre built. They have to come and put there probes in to make sure it does what you say it will do. I can have them come out and check mine no problem and it would pass I know that. Plus you personally have to be certified as well to sell certified kiln dried wood. Not hard to do either. I know with my new kiln I will get it certified once I’m finished with the build and I know it works to my standards.

I like hearing about the no smoke, that is my one reservation on switching from G4000 to a C250. Just because my wood situation has changed, I suddenly find myself flush with wood -- some of it not being the best though.

She definitely does smoke when loading in the morning with just coals in her. But it gets to temp so fast and ideal the next burners no smoke. Way better than I thought.

@richarddabkowski2896

This one is bigger, and will heat faster since the firebox is so huge, but it won't be more efficient wood wise. It will eat more wood than the last one for sure. Of course, that's not a bad a thing, Matt has unlimited wood, trading more usage for more BTUs is an easy trade for him to make.
@Treestofirewood
@Treestofirewood 3 ай бұрын
Yeah I definitely have the wood to put through her. But right now it’s crazy with how efficient she is right now. No bs I’ve burned less wood with same heat loads with my g series. I will explain in next video.

What temp does your kiln get up to when you run it wide open for the last two days?
@Treestofirewood
@Treestofirewood 3 ай бұрын
When I run her wide open it will get to 165. Just depends on what the moisture levels are at that point. If the wood is pretty much ready it will get there. If i had it wide open at first maybe 140 and will creep from there as the moisture gets pulled out. My new kiln I’m hoping to hit 170.

I remember a video of the shop area and how man hot water storage tanks you had. Do you think you would be reducing that down to 1/2 the size because of the ability of this OWB to heat quickly?
@Treestofirewood
@Treestofirewood 3 ай бұрын
I will keep the tanks for the loop on just the snow melt. The amount of draw that it has on the water is still to much. I know this boiler will be able to handle it I just don’t want 90 degree water going back to the boiler. It’s too cold to mix with the hot water and will cause the boiler to sweat. I will be doing modifications to the snowmelt system this year to really ramp up the heating capacity and also help with the boiler.

Not an expert but, since it holds 550 gallons of water that large amount of water does not drop as quickly compared to your old burner when the circulators kick on. Sounds and looks like you got exactly what you need.
