Music was just brilliant from 80 to 83. Heaven 17, Human League, Depeche, Altered Images, Japan, Duran, Adam and the Ants, Ultravox, Visage and a host of one hit wonders. So new and exciting and diverse. Great time to be in your teens. Great memories..

Ha ha, I was 18 when this was out, and at art college. My dad was in his late 50s at the time and he used to say the same about this music, generations eh. And my best friend had a crush on an older man who lived up the road from the college, and was always referring to this song. Happy days😊.

I would never go back even if I could. The music was good and I can still listen to it and go see the bands along with listening to the new music I like. The music was the only thing I liked back in the 80s and I still have it but apart from that life is an awful lot better now.

I love the word to this song. I was 17 when I met my husband to be in 1974, and he was 31. It was love at first sight, we would have been together 50yrs next yr & were married for 42 in June. He passed away on the 16th October, his funeral was last Wednesday. I am heartbroken 💔

Ian Craig Marsh & Martyn Ware were original members of Human League. Phil Oakley came on board a bit later but they never got along. ICM & MW eventually left because they fell out with Oakey and a few years later they formed Heaven 17 with Glen Gregory on vocals.

I was 17 in 1999 and wouldn't want to be a teenager now. The world was a better place in the 80s and 90s. Since the 2000s there has been numerous world problems.

Honestly, no song lyrics have ever come together so flawlessly as in this song. The story, how it rhymes so perfectly. Honestly, how often must that happen? Truly one of the best tunes of the 80s. Which equates to, one of the best songs of all time! I saw Heaven 17 this Saturday just gone at Let's Rock Wales festival, and they sang this. I had tears of pure nostalgia. How I miss the 80s. 💕
