The Safdie Brothers talk about their latest film, Heaven Knows What and the upcoming project, Uncut Gems.
Joshua and Ben Safdie are American filmmakers who have collaborated on four feature films and many more shorts. Their work includes their first co-directed feature, Go Get Some Rosemary/Daddy Longlegs (2009), which played the Cannes Directors' Fortnight, and Lenny Cooke (2013), a basketball documentary they completed over ten years after the initial footage was shot by producer Adam Shopkorn.
The brothers' latest co-directorial effort is Heaven Knows What, the story of a group of New York City heroin junkies, partially based on the life of lead actress Arielle Holmes, whose as yet unpublished book is adapted for the film. One of the most striking films at TIFF 2014, it was our pleasure to host the Safdies at our studio space at CineCycle and talk about the film's production, its relationship to their other films and prison codes.

I legit felt as if I was on the streets again. Arielle and I had very similar lifestyles. It was a brilliant movie.

Unbelievably excellent film. I held of watching it for the last couple of years, except caved in today just had to see, and i love the subject even though its complicated and difficult to describe, seeing the death does not romanticise the addiction at all.

Fincher, Wright he was in jail for drugs and then when he was getting transferred to a rehab place, he snuck out and was on the run for a year which was when he was filming heaven knows what and then he finally got caught after they finished the movie

tio estas kemando techo pero graciaspor tu aporte la perspectiva aunque pueda parecer real a veces suele ser una alteracion como una especie de espejo roto donde el reflejo escapa mucho de lo que es realmente por otro lado estos tios en especial el tio con la gorra es un genio quiero darle la mano y invitarle una cerveza
