Somehow I had overlooked this EP the first time I got to hear it. On second audition it struck me as one of the best pieces of space ambient music out there. Just the right balance, amazingly atmospheric....

Can somebody tell me where could I start if I wanted to make music like this? I'm a rock musician but now I wanna start doing electronic and I feel very drawn toward these kinds of sonorities. What should I know or what software/hardware should I acquire?

ableton and fruit loops are good programs

Get a DAW (digital audio workstation) - any decent one will do. A softsynth ( ASynth - Smartelectronix is recommended), and multiple delay and reverb plugins. The reverb and delays are probably the most important things to make dub techno!
