Heavily weathering, your model trains with weathering powder can take a shiny store-bought model, train car and turn it into something that looks very realistic. You can weather model trains using weathering powders. How to make HO scale trains rusty using weathering powders. We are also doing graffiti on model trains today. You can get very detailed scale graffiti on your model trains in HO scale, or N Scale with paint markers. You don’t need to use decals on your model trains to get fantastic results doing miniature graffiti on your HO scale model trains. Great video of the weathering and graffiti on this hopper car! Your work is very good and spot on when it comes to color choices! I've always wanted a ROCK hopper to do graffiti and weathering and you've made my decision for me. Hey I wanted to share something with you that I discovered. I found a paint marker that's designed specifically for use on plastic, its from the company who makes the robot models called Gundam, it's called Gundam marker. It's intended for customization of their models and you can find them usually any store that sells the model kits. I used one I picked up recently to do an outline on an autorack and it worked perfectly. I also discovered that using 0.7 size paint markers drastically reduce the splattering problem I mentioned before.
