You just need to adjust yourself in the new conditions. Indisputably, the UK climate is wet and mild. And for this reason it's not of the country's priorities to be prepared for one or two snow episodes per year. This doesn't mean that it's a weak country.

Mate two drops of rains brings the whole train system to a standstill. I think the only thing we are prepared for here is grey cloudy sky (without wind ofcourse because again high winds for couple hours again forces everything to shut) 😑

Hello there, this is snow squall. A snow squall is a sudden moderately heavy snowfall with blowing snow and strong, gusty surface winds. A blizzard is when the visibility is less than a half of mile, snowing within 3 hours, and a wind that exceeds 35 mph (56 kph) or more. I hope you learned new things about snow squall and blizzard. ~ Future Meteorologist, Gabe.
@joerussellwx59115 жыл бұрын
Yes, snowsqualls often produce blizzard conditions. Hince the new snowsquall warning by NOAA due to their intensity and ability to drop visibility down to 0.

@haroldinho99303 жыл бұрын
That’s because deserts drop below freezing every night, and you live in mountains!
@alexj11613 жыл бұрын
@@haroldinho9930 I’m in a valley, and I’ve been to the mountains during winter storms. 3 or 4 cm of snow fell (less than average for a snowy day). Mind you this was 4 days before a freak storm caused 10 cm of rain to fall there. We actually don’t get below freezing that much in the desert probably because of low elevation, low temperatures usually hover around 5°C. If we were cooler and/or wetter snow could happen maybe once a year, but that is if an infrequent and almost always dry cold front comes. Rain comes from Pacific systems nearly always. In S. California for context.

@northmeteohellas3166 жыл бұрын
It was a short blizzard. You call a phenomenon blizzard for tits severity (heavy snowfall and strong winds) not for the amount of snow. You say about dusting, but look at the timescale. It was just 20 minutes and the total height of snow was ~5cm. Ok it didn't last for hours. But how would you call what happened in those 20minutes?
@ARandomInternetUser082 жыл бұрын
It's a snow squall. A blizzard has to have consistent or constant 35+ winds or wind gusts and visibility of a quarter mile or less, all of those happening for 3 hours or more consistently or constant throughout the duration of the 3 hours.

That would be a snow squall now. They can have blizzard conditions and more and are dangerous because they can hit without warning. To me, they're winter's severe thunderstorm warning. They pack strong winds, blinding precipitation, etc.
