Homes and businesses across New South Wales have been blanketed by thick snow during an Antarctic blast.
Some enjoyed the heavy snowfall, taking their toboggans to the golf course, throwing snowballs or spreading their wings and creating snow angels.
Others hunkered down indoors with their furry friends and the heater on full power.
One thing many could agree on, is how NSW was transformed into a scene out of a Christmas movie.
So, we've compiled a bunch of your videos from across NSW to showcase how beautiful, cold and wintery it's been.

Some years in this part of Canada ( Eastern Ontario ) it can start snowing in November and not stop snowing until the following April. In the north parts of Canada you could get an even longer winter.

Perfect winter snow. I am a hardened American so I have had my share of snow living in New England and Ohio but winter is just too much. We have ridiculous cold and snow for winter and equally ridic humid, hot summers. Spring and autumn are barely seasons anymore. I love hot swimming weather but not every day for 4 months. And winter here is terrible. This is nice..cool, mild winter with an occasional snow that is just enough to look pretty but not disrupt every day life. But comfortable to warm most of the year. And I'd trade a "White Christmas" for a day on the beach on the barbie any year!

In Saskatchewan, Canada (where I use to live) it would usually reach -30C, sometimes maybe 35C. But with the added wind chill from the western provinces would reach -40C. Godamn cold. I'm semi-glad I moved to Australia. Although snow gives me nostalgia it wasn't great. But it was at the cost of excruciatingly hot summers.

In Ontario, Canada, we get less snow. Global warming really sucks! Luckily, we had a huge snowfall a few days ago. The temperature today was a high of -2 degrees Celsius, and a low of -11 degrees Celsius. Snow is not common here is Canada (southern Canada).

It snowed in my state (Ohio) late last month, in mid May. It is very unusual, as the snow season is usually late October to early April. Snow in May here is odd. And it's been in the 90s (32 Celsius) several times since. The climate is whack here

Not really. It’s actually quite common. Every year it snows. Every few years the snow is more widespread. Every time, the media drums it up as if it’s something new. It’s always snowed in NSW, only these days it’s much less than it used to be 50 years ago.

I would not mind as long as they create heated green houses and other stuff to help us grow food i kinda over with the extra sun we have here the caribbean we have 2 season dry season and rainy season i love rainy season because the place is cooler and nice with a little bit of sun not as harsh as dry season in feb of this year our temperatures dipped low as 18 degrees some part of Trinidad and Tobago was at 17 degrees which is really low we normally have temperatures in the 20s and 30s so that low dip was a shock to all of us which makes me believe we will get snow one day ❤

I was just talking to someone I know in the central Australia outback & they say it's quite cold there & they're wearing jeans for the first time in years! We both suspect that the massive drop in air traffic is having an impact on upper atmospheric conditions, when you think about it, that's millions of tonnes of CO2 not been pumped into the atmosphere 🤔

Yes, believe it or not, it snows every year in Australia. There are snow chains and snow tyres, plus anti-freeze and everything else that goes with snowy winter weather. Just because someone on the media says it’s unique doesn’t mean it is. Our ski resorts in the Australian Alps get snow regularly (sometimes even in summer). Widespread snow happens every few years. Welcome to the new world of total disruption of the Jet Stream. We're experiencing the same effects here in British Columbia. The JS traditionally flowed in waves more or less East West. Now it has huge loops that go far up into the Arctic and draw down colder air as the flow heads back toward the equator. The reverse is also true of course, warmer air ending up in the Arctic. I'd guess you'd be seeing the same thing in the southern hemisphere. So expect to see more events like this. And the opposite ... more extreme heat and drought events. And yes it is climate change.

@MinutesWithMates
@MinutesWithMates 3 жыл бұрын
On the note of climate change: if you sit down and talk to Aussies who’ve lived in these parts of NSW for 80+ years, they’ll tell you that it is now snowing much less than it used to snow. Snow in Australia is not uncommon. Granted, it’s regular at our ski fields and widespread snow happens every few years. But due to the warming climate, the snow at both the ski fields and elsewhere is becoming less.
