Not too complicated in my mind. While in her father's house, she is subject to her father's authority. At the consummation, that authority is legally transferred to the husband. Either way, all females are subject to a man's authority over them. YHVH's design is perfect and amazing 😊

@@wadestrickland3372 However, as you just said "in my mind" so this idea you bring is more subjective. Is there anything within the rest of Tanakh to back up this idea? One could say that as soon as both her and her father agreed to the marriage, that authority was transferred and would have just as much standing as your stance. Just as at any point in time after bother parties have agreed to a marriage covenant, if she breaks that even while living in your fathers house, she breaks it as she would be breaking the covenant between her and her husband. Such because she physically dwells at one location or another wouldn't necessarily determine the state of being in this relationship.
