Announcement live at CfC St. Moritz 2024
The DeRec Alliance aims to bring together the Web3 ecosystem to offer an open-source, industry-standard methodology that makes digital asset recovery painless and secure across wallets. It was announced this morning at the industry leading conference CfC St. Moritz in Switzerland, where Dr. Leemon Baird, co-founder of Hedera and co-CEO of Swirlds Labs, and John Woods, CTO of Algorand Foundation, spoke jointly on a morning panel on Layer 1 superpowers.

Gosh, Leemon is a bright dude. His solution of DeRec is very elegant, but actually quite very simple. I guess, that's how you judge a genius. They come up with simple, but yet elegant solution to a problem. And that solution generalises not only to the crypto industry, but other industries. Bravo.

I know of a hardware wallet dropping soon that does this exact same thing. Ryder 1. Maybe that's another collaboration opportunity.

👍 you are probably going to suggest that to Ryder and if they're smart they'll listen. 😁 While so many are 👀 at the ETF shenanigans, smart ones are looking at this interview/alliance and know THIS is the make -break point. Bad advice on sharing your keys with friends. If you ever get hacked you will always be skeptical of friends and family as the ones who stole it. Be responsible for your own keys. Be an adult.

There’s no need for this. This idea is still very risky. Anything that brings more complexity into any system brings other problems of its own…. That’s a fact. Stick to what is simple and be a responsible person. That’s all one needs. These guys are salesmen who stand to make huge amounts of money from their idea. Therefore they will display over excitement. I wouldn’t buy into this… just my opinion!!!
