Hedge Shears - Restoration
In this video I am restoring very rusty hedge shears.
As you can see these shears are in really bad shape from what I presume is years of exposure to the elements. They suffered from complete rusting and very heavy metal pitting but I knew they still had life left in them!
A few things I have never done before were needed for this restoration, such as making new handles and trying to achieve a mirror polish on steel. I went through a mountain of sandpaper to get a smooth finish on the metal.

I never thought I would be getting enjoyment out of watching something restoring an old set of gardening shears but here I am Killin it lol I have to say though coming from a none handy man i am really impressed with the amount of power tools dodads and thingamabobs that you actually don't use compered to some of the other restore channels and you appear to get the same results and just one more thing that I really like and that is you even try to use as much of the original parts as possible. This i really do like. Anyway I have noticed after your first couple of videos you haven't done any more I for one would like to watch more but if you can't or just don't want to then that cool take care

My man, I'm convinced you've made their condition better than back when they were produced. These blades are so pretty, I rarely see garden equipment being taken care of so thoroughly. Was hoping to see them in action, though… And if they happen to still be in your possession, do you have to sharpen them with a whetstone often? Are they heat treated?

Thanks for the kind words man! Yes still in my possession. I haven’t sharpened them again as they have sat on my shelf since the restoration unused haha!
