i mean, 9 minutes is nothing doing it in the wrong way, the correct way to do this is to be parallel to the ground, not with your back raised, so please take this video for as a example of how to NOT do it, and don't be discouraged if you last less time

Honestly I can kinda relate to her cuz in school we had a plank test and I managed to do 2 full min and last year I could only do 30 sec and if you rlly into it u can train (my Motivation was getting an A, which I got hehehehe)

Lol literally just drink something afterwards, maybe wait a minute or two and then do an exercise that focuses on other muscle groups like legs. I mean if you never do any exercises at all you shouldn't overdo it right away but after some time it starts getting easier

It is incredible that she did it for 7 minutes but her posture or form is incorrect which means the tension was not in her abs. It was in her shoulders. So it did become easier for her.

Yup the form isn't correct. Maybe she didn't realize her body was too elevated that time since I sometimes tend to do that as well with body workouts. What she's doing is still hard though since 7 mins is still hard.

I'm not saying she's not athletic and I'm not saying she never does it well, I'm just saying she's not doing it well in the video and everyone will handle a plank if it's not in the right position because you're not working out if you don't do it well!

Even After 3 months if u can't hold it longer then maybe ur form is incorrect, try some other workouts too like negative pushups, crunches ,pelvic rise to build up ... at least it worked for me also take rest days

Her butt is higher than the rest of her body. It makes planking a lot less difficult, but it's not proper form. Her body is supposed to form a straight, upwards slope - hence, a "plank." It's a reason why she can plank for a long time.

Just by looking at the thumbnail, you can already tell the reason why she was able to hit 7 minutes. Of course it doesn't mean that it was easy but the form definitely helped her out there.

Yea 100% right. It really isn't hard to do because the tension in distributed to her upper body and mostly shoulders. While a normal butt down and slanted plank, makes you have massive tension on your abs.

she is supposed make a horizontal line with her body, so she should lower her hips more for it to be correct, because even if slightly, she’s forming a pyramid with her body, which results in not giving all you have

im a martial art athlete and this is one of the drills routine that i hate the most. we must do this drill for 5 minutes every morning, evening and night and it’s extremely hard and painful at first but as time goes by, i’ve gotten use to it but still, 7 minutes is tough ngl

im not trying to hate or anything. what she is doing is commendable job but she is doing it a little incorrect for a plank your hips should be at your shoulder level her hips were too high hence the stress on lower abdomen muscles doesn't get concentrated.

As a person who has been exercising for years the technique of this girl isn't correct, the shoulder aren't perpendicular to the elbow and the butt it's too high so the abs aren't working as they should. This leads me to remind you that in plank (and in almost any exercise) the time isn't important if the technique isn't correct, you have to prioritize the form over the time specially in an exercise that can cause a lot of injuries if you do it wrongly like plank

Not trying to say 7 minutes isn't impressive or something, but technically her posture is off. Like her hips are way to high which makes her arms kinda over her shoulders. The correct posture would burn your abs more.

planks are supposed to be straight. With that form all the tension is taken away from the abs. (Also, planks longer than 1min are basically useless, you get more from doing sets of 20-30 secs with couple secs in between)

Her posture is off. She isn’t parallel to the ground, her arms are too forward and she holds her hands together (puts less strain on the core). Not to say it is “easy” or a useless workout but she is definitely making it easier on herself.

Yeah I was thinking the same.... Most people who plank for several minutes are normally with their body not properly aligned. This makes so the exercise isn't as effective as it should and puts more pressure on their shoulders and/or lower back

Not to hate, but as an athlete, I just wanna point out that of course she was able to do it for seven minutes-her form was way off. Her body should be in a straight line, hips down, and arms should be directly under her. Plus, she’s really skinny so she’s light and it shouldn’t be hard for her to hold herself up. She still did well tho! I have messed up rotator cuffs so I can’t plank much anymore, but when I was younger (11-12) I could easily do them for 12 minutes.

I will say, though she mentions that she knows her posture isn't great/correct pretty much, it's still quite impressive to hold up for that long regardless. The facts are that she's doing an elbow plank which is the easier form of a real straight arm plank (like full extended flat push up position). I myself just got back into regularly working out recently, and this is what I do too. Like people say, her back is curled and her glutes are higher than the rest of her body, therefore incorrect posture as a plank, even an elbow plank, is supposed to be a straight flat form like a wooden *plank.* Because a plank is supposed to mainly train your core muscles to keep you up and in correct form. So lower her down a bit, and she'd be grand :D her body looks amazing though, so I do believe she has correct posture when she looks in the mirror to check herself!

@@belllllasmelllla we had fitness test in school,one of the girl(a ballerina) she beat everyone including the boys in sit up and push up. Another ballerina she did more pull ups than the rest of the class My other friend told me that if you gain weight you will be punish

@@studytimelapseforyou the weight thing is not entirely true. Ballet dancers tend to be quite thin but in my studio if you are a little or a lot chubby it does not define your dancing. For me I still struggle with body dismorphia and its common for a ballet dancer to have eating issues

not to be nit picky but her plank form isn’t 100% consistent through the exercise which makes it easier to last this long (still an achievement tho!)

The plank form is where your body is straight, (like this ----•) but she was like this /\ (The tip is her hips, there just wasn't a very good example of it in the text on my phone) She really wasn't working out her abs/core, so it became easier. (That's still pretty hard to do for 7 minutes.)
