He is beatmatching and loading tracks off serato. It's not synced. They paid him to help QA for development of fx and stuff so naturally he is using it to load tracks on the CDJ. Heiko is one of the most OG out there you would know that if you've been around...

Ive seen this guy play twice, both small clubs in Sydney and Montreal. Both times he played real late into the morning until there was not many people left and he was having a great time

Ein absolutes Naturtalent, der Mann. 1996 hat er mal als ganz junger Bursche das Omen völlig zerlegt. Eine meiner geilsten Erinnerungen an früher.

Not sure about him as a DJ but he is one of the best producers of all time.. his Kanzleramt label releases are historic.

Not the best skills around but always to the core. Check out his Classic Open mix given as a farewell to Neuton distributors when moving to EFA and Berlin with Kanzleramt in 1999

Honestly this is the worst mix by him on youtube that ive found so far. 20 Minutes of the same "boing" sound at the beginning is a really odd choice. Check out "Heiko Laux Viva zwei 2step" on youtube. 6 part series and absolutely legendary. Heiko Laux at phonodrome 2002 is really good as well but the quality is what youd expect from 2002.

i really dont get why djs use laptops when they have cdjs? can someone who uses sereato or traktor or what ever tell me why it makes djing any better... i would have thought it would make it more boring

The pro's: You've got all your music on your laptop. And you see a track wave. Traktor is way better imo. The cons: It just doesn't work as good as just the cdj's. So I really haven't got a clue why he uses a laptop... with Serato
