I would open the monitor and check the connection to the control board. If that seems okay check the capacitors if any bulge on the top replace them.

This sounds like it could be a loose connection to the LCD matrix board, from the control board. you could try release the flat cables and cleaning them with a bit of rubbing alcohol and putting them back in. Best of luck.

It is possible a d9329 could have failed, but if all transistors are connected to the same d9329, I doubt that would be the issue. As for measuring the transistors: (I hope these instructions make sense) 1- Determine which pin is the base (should have a thinner trace then the other 2 pin traces) 2- Measure the voltage at the base in reference to GND (find a component [Tantalum Capacitor {likely orange rectangular}] the side of this component connected to the ground plane will be GND) 3.a- If any of the voltages on the transistor measures lower than the others, follow the base trace back, and measure voltage drops across any component along that trace, and compared to it the voltage drops on the same component on a base trace of a healthy base voltage. If the voltage drop across the component of the unheathly base voltage is higher than that of the healthy base component that component should be replaced. 3.b- If all the base voltages measure the same, measure the voltage of the other 2 pins of the transistor still referencing the GND. One of these pins should have a higher voltage than the other. once you determine which pin this is, compare the voltages of this pin on all the transistors. If any of these has a lower or higher voltage than the others, It is very likely that transistor has failed and will need to be replaced.

Matt Heilman Thank you! Very helpful. Still trying to figure out whats going on. I did find lower voltage on one of the transistors. I traced back to a resistor and all resistor seem to have similar voltages so could possibly be the transistor. Not sure what the transistors are though. All I can see is KZ4 NX. Google it and having a heck of a time finding a data sheet on it. Do you know what it is?

It attempted to find this part number as well, The only transistor that came up using 4NX was this guy pdf.datasheetcatalog.com/datasheet/NXP_Semiconductors/PBSS304NX.pdf Though I was excepting a FET not a BJT, So I have my concerns. Too determine if the issue is the transistor you could place low value resistor across the Collector and Emitter, and see if the dark section of the screen lights. If it does light, you have some options. 1- take out the bad transistor and and a good transistor switch their places and see if the dark section moves. 2- when you have a good transistor out take some measurements on its gain. and find a component with similar specs. (It really is unfortunate that companies label parts so poorly)

Did you test the power supply? If you have a Voltage meter? if so check the voltage across the power capacitors. When the power supply is pulled in.

It could be the external power supply or the electrolytic capacitors. it also could be a loose connection.

+Amrit Cado van der Lely hi :) Thanks for the reply. I opened the monitor in order to spot some damages on the hardware but there were none. then i tried the on/off "button" and it worked. It might have been a loose connection. unfortunately after putting the pieces together and connecting to my notebook, i realized i had broken the display while opening the monitor.

Strange, you may want to inspect your connections and the condition of your capacitors. (through hole and SMD)

Honestly, I would leave it be. Insects dry out over time and their fluids are mostly contained within their exoskeleton during that time.

Matt Heilman yes the monitor would do the same thing. I opened all and cleaned alll but no avail the display comes delayed . I think problem is in the refresh reate or frame rate can we increase it manually?

Yes, it possible I would recommend checking the LCD matrix connectors and insuring they are the same type and have the same number pins, prior to removing the panels.

Could you describe "over heating". does the whole monitor shut off for a time?

Heilman Hackatronics I think I have the same issue as him. The upper right-hand corner of mine dims after a short period of use, then flickers randomly on and off. Turning down my monitor brightness all the way stops the flickering.

clanerppc You can try pinching the monitor bottom left side of the frame, when it is flashing. If that stops the flashing you will likely have to resolder the terminal.

Ivan Pal I am less familiar with TVs, but it sounds like you have some failing capacitors, possibly connections are getting loose with heat as well.
