I live in Australia, I was born here in 1971, but my dad was born in Bad kreuznach in 1932. He bought your music to me. My youth, through the 70's, 80's, and 90's always included your music, amongst Bruce Springsteen. God Bless you Heino, you keep the memory of my father true and real. Heino, ich freue mich sehr wenn ich Deine Lieder höre .Ich bin in Chile als Sohn und Enkel deutscher Einwanderer geboren. Viele diser Lieder hab ich selbst in meiner Jugend gesungen. Bin 1933 geboresn und hab die Zeir des Nationalsozialismos als junger Bengel mitgemacht . !50 prozentige Nazis waren einige meiner Lehrer . Auch am letzten Lager 1943 hab ich als der Jüngste mitgemacht. Es wurde viel , viel gesungen , u.A. auch viele Lieder die Du singst . Dieses verjüngt mich . Danke Dir herzlich.

I love what Heino has done for German folk music. For decades, it was side-lined and revered as some sort of holy relic . Heino, just like the Dubliners in Ireland, has succeeded in reviving this art-form and has given it back to the people. He is a national treasure.

My father was a prominent D.J. in the Cincinnati Ohio German community 1975-2011 ,He and his audience LOVED Heino. I may have been named after 'Schwartze Barbara". I love his taking the parodies in stride and in German humor.

I was always fascinated (and franly somewhat amused) by the audiences that sat on these shows. Just clapping their hands and staring at whatever it was they were staring at. Somehow the word "gemütlichkeit" never sprang to my mind on those occasions. This just might be a very German thing that outsiders can't fathom. I've talked to Germans about this, who acknowledged my feelings about this in hindsight, but had never thought about it in that way. But then again they were never really into this form of amusement in the first place and didn't even bother to imagine what it all might be about. Which is also very German.....

I'm very blond and wear black sunglasses because the Florida sun's brutal.There was a German couple in a local Aldi,they must have been in their sixties or early seventies.She took one look at me and said "vas Heino!" and her husband started laughing.I got home and Googled Heino .I can think of much worse things to be called as an American nowadays.Besides,Jello Biafra was cognizant of him.

I have a photo of me with my German girlfriend and i'm wearing a tight turtleneck (green i remember) under an open shirt, that was 1967. Her sister later featured on tho RAF wanted posters in the early 70s, those were the days. I was more of a Udo Jurgens fan.

If you take look you will find out that there are two Heinos in this Video. One is the real Heino, the other guy was punished to say that he is the real Heino. One has the real voice, the other one is trying to reach the level of the right one, but failed. The wrong Heino is an actor or better say a comedian. The real Heino is a singer. You surely hear the difference.
